Based on my experience sa pdisc na ginagamit ko noon sa aking VCD player. Depende sa quality ng pdisc, ayun sa pagkakalay-out ng disc. Ganun din cguro sa DVD na pdisc, depende sa quality ng media disc (blank disc na ginamit for copy)at sa writter na gnamit. Kaya minsan yung ibang pdisc d mabasa ng ibang player

I don't know if anyone here has had the chance to compare Xenon with Promac. My friend has a promac and he's had the same problem with the same DVDs that I couldn't play.

He tried to play the DVDs at Virra Mall on a Nextbase and they both worked! According to my friend, Promac and Xenon have the same "setup menu" while Nextbase has a different setup menu.

I'm just wondering why two different players from different companies has the same menu. Could this be why both Xenon and Promac can't play the same disks?

Hello All!

My pc's winamp as well as a samsung cd vcd mp3 player had trouble with a particular mp3 collection disk so I was planning to return to ithe store. It sounded like it was badly encoded (sounded all chopped up).

I tried playing on the xenon. and i was blown away! the alladin soundtrack was fastastic

This is one area where it really shines. . I think it was processed to play in (simulated) surround ( dolby digital II maybe?)

Hats off again to xenon.

Alfie, Thanks for the help bro but for now, i still have a few hours left on which of the 2 dvd players i should get. Either the Xenon or the dv 355. Like what you said..when in doubt, get the Cheap one!

So I might just buy the Xenon brand. Based on the specs the only thing that keeps me from getting the pioneer is that the xenon has a pal ntsc converter, where it can play pal concert dvds. And one more thing, Ambassador is selling the Xenon for only P4,900, that includes a year of warranty, and the 355 sells for P8,700 and is already multi region as compared to what Abenson sells for the 355 - P8,750 and doesnt have multi-r and you have to add another additional P500 to have it in multi-r. Xenon is my choice! Good Buy huh!

Jotaro- Someone told me that the 355 cannot decipher MP3, the Xenon I believe can, so that's again value for money.

after hovering here for about 2 months, i finally decided to buy myself a xenon. guys like reinardian, mitsurugi, griv, etc. (ang dami nyo mga pre, thanks) greatly influenced me. i brought me the usual dvds for testing and all played. kahapon e bumili ako ng THE CORRS LIVE IN LONDON na p-disk. tinest doon sa player na BEST nag play. pagdating ko sa bahay kagabi e ayaw mag play. umpisa pa lang e nag-hang na. pinapalitan ko kanina, tinest ulit OK talaga sa BEST. me katabi nga palang stall na me PROMAC pinatest ko doon ayaw din. ano kaya ang problema? syanga pala, meron din akong nabili na LAST OF THE MOHICANS, kala ko sira kaya sinoli ko. kanina nakakita ako tinest doon sa BEST, nagplay. pinatest ko sa PROMAC ayaw din. DVD9 yata yung disc. me problema kaya yung xenon ko?

I also have a p-disk na The Corrs Live in London, but I have a NEXTBASE DVD Player kya hindi sya nagha-hang. It played perfectly on my NEXTBASE.

My advice to you both is forget Xenon, buy NEXTBASE!! It is simply the best generic player in the market right now.

have just visited the nextbase thread (again!!), it seemed that u owned a nextbase na pala.

do you also own a xenon, how many dvd players do u have? why do you own morde than 1 dvd player? i'm just curious because i don't see the wisdom in investing in more than 1 generic DVD player considering nagbabagsakan na ang prices nila.

Negative, xenon lang ang player ko. Just made some inquiries in the nextbase thread. I did think of getting another one for soemone else.

I have resigned myself to the fact that my player won't read all disks and it won't last forever (gawa lang ng tao ito). Nasira nga after one week use. (na warranty naman)

And ok narin if you mainly go for p disks. the fact that you can return and exchange stuff is unparalleled in the non P world. I notice most abu patrons are even apologetic in returning disks for exchange (usaully the disks are incompatible with their player but sometimes they just don't like the movie) , because they know the abus have no choice but to cater to them. (Teka sa america yata pweding magsauli ng gamit even after using it for one week.) I don't want to go into the morality of this. (another thread?) but only report what I see.

Anyway, all I can say here is probably nothing is perfect. Although the search for it is fun (but sometimes expensive).

Hi guys I just came from Ambassador in Goldcrest. They told me that they never sold the Xenon. They have the Daiwa player for P 5,500.

Jotaro, can you tell me which branch you saw the Xenon for P 4,900?

As of the last week , the discounted xenon was out of stock in abenson reverbank marikina. Pero, magkakaron daw uli. Maybe you could try the other branches.

jael your friend can try out the xenon 2.1 speaker system...there are 2 models one is 1000 watts plus, the other about 3000 watts plus...the first model is around 1.8k and the other almost 4k...i auditioned both and they sound pretty good...plus it'll look good with his xenon player because it's a xenon brand as well...

What are the difference between the Xenon 810 and 710 model? Sa price mababa yung 710 sa 810. Sa features ano ba pinagkaiba nila? BTW i hav a 810 at THUMBS UP ako sa Xenon 810.

Hindi ko akalaing maubos ang 810 sa Metro Manila. Word form pinoydvd sure gets out!

- I suspect the 710 does not have dts decoder built in. Nakasulat kasi DTSdigital out sa front panel.

Alfie, finally i got what I wanted. I bought the 355 from ambassador and it does play mp3s, although it can't play PAL dvds but I'm in luck, my dad bought a Xenon 810 player for himself and it solved my problem.

B4 i forget, the last time I posted here about the price of the Xenon dvd player that was selling at Ambassador was a mistake. They had some ignorant sales people there that can't differentiate which brand is which. They dont sell Xenon dvd players, only shinco and some china branded players that I can't remember.
