HD DVD is slashing its hardware prices while Blu-ray is offering best prices for its software... ::)

The war will heat on & reach new height during the holiday season... :-X

A lot of HD DVD movies at Wal-Mart are already $18.96 (or less for some) so it's not only hardware...  ;D

    Sorry kung medyo OT.  I read from the link below that the native resolution depends on the studio that produced them.  Now, the question is, how does one determined that disc's native resolution?  Is there something printed at the back of the package that indicates it?  Something like the logo that indicates the region number of DVDs.   :)

Yep it's OT. You can discuss this in other thread. As the other member pointed out "All the answers you have heard are correct"...depending what are your questions. :)

In summary, all HD DVD & Blu-ray movies are encoded in 1080p (special/bonus features could be in 480). Certain documentary or non-movie based HDs are in 1080i/720p. Yes, you can check the resolution at the back of the case/package. However, whether you can play the actual max resolution will depend on your HDTV native resolution & player capability.

They are basically HD scenic oceanviews and fishes with optional relaxing background music (classical, new age... ) :) :) :)
