Good DVDs in Thailand
« on: May 07, 2006 at 08:05 AM »
I think there are some of you who have already bought DVDs here in Bangkok. I read that the LOTR EE is similar to its R1 counterpart. I was at the Siam Paragon yesterday and all three (12 discs) were only 1260 Baht or 1638 Pesos.

Any other releases worth buying?

that lotr is the one distributed by mangpong right? isip ko nga rin kung bibili ako. try mo rin maghanap ng mga R3 dvd's imported from HK (repackaged in thailand). punta ka rin sa  MBK. they also sell some R1 dvd's there.

enjoy your stay!  :)

It is my second time here and the first time I went was for a conference. That is why I am not familiar with the shopping places yet.

I went to Siam Paragon (that claims to be the biggest mall in SE Asia) and saw some DVD-5s also. I think I just have to read the labels carefully to make sure that I have the full bit titles.

Ewan ko ba kung bakit bumibili pa rin ng pi rated ang mga tao dito. 100 Baht ang pirated, katumbas ng 130 pesos. Pero panalo talaga ang mga orig dito.

You can get them at MBK... problem is seems that you are better off getting them here or if your looking for pdvd's I think cheaper here... but definitely much cheaper in Jakarta (both for originals and not-so-originals)...

Hope this helps...

yung literal na Sin City sa Thailand or yung DVD? joks  ;D

Anyway, Shutter is a great movie. Its probably the scariest I have watched. and its in DTS-ES.

Also, if you are into martial arts action, get Ong Bak and Tony Jaa's latest movie, Tom Yum Goong. This guy makes Jet Li look boring.  ;D

You do not have to tell me about the Sin City because I live in the Silom area. ;D

But how is the Thai release of Sin City, the movie?
