anybody own this receiver? what can you guys say about its performance / sound quality? did they improve on the general consensus that onkyo AVR's sound rather bright? can this AVR power floorstanders? like paradigm monitor 11, cc390 etc..? Did they sort out the software bugs if there is any?

No wires are included with the receiver. You use a single RCA cable from the receiver's LFE output to the subwoofer.

Are you sure walang input yun sub? I just downloaded the manual of your sub and the diagram shows meron.

if there is no LFE RCA sa sub mo, baka older version sya kasi last year gamit ko psw110, may LFE rca female meron naman.

Sir doon po sa Line In sa left or right ng subwoofer mo ikabit yung isang cable. Isang cable lang naman ang kailangan ikabit from your AVR to your sub's line in.

yes.  are you sure you dont have an LFE in via the subs amp?
sorry kung ilan ulit tinatanong ha, lahat kasi ng nakita ko psw may LFE rca eh

Better result pag both L & R line in terminals ng sub gagamitin mo Bro, use 1 run coax cable 75ohms tapos gamit ka y-connector to connect to L& R line in sa sub

Help! i got my Onkyo sr508. sound is great in music but when i plugged my tv out to my onkyo receiver sobrang hina ng sounds kailangan sa 70 na yung vol. pero pag music naman sa aux malakas naman. also talaga bang kailangan ipress lagi ang receiver button para gumana ang remote pag off yung receiver? may kilala ba kayo na magaling magset up ng onkyo dito? thanks

I'm not sure with the 508 but my 608 has a source level volume where you can add or reduce volume to match the rest of the components.

sir, anong volume ng TV mo? na try mo na lakasan yung volume ng TV? baka lang dependent yung lakas ng input ng RCA sa volume ng tv.

bakit marami yatang problem sa ONKYO?

madalas po kase eh familiarity sa features ng receiver and nagiging isyu but does not mean yung Onkyo receiver mismo ang may problema. May mag features kase na pag baguhan sa gamit eh di agad makap ng may ari kaya di agad maayos ang performance.

I dont think ONKYO lang ang may maraming issues sa mga new models, it runs on all brands.

Sa tingin ko dahil sa sobrang dami ng features which makes the receiver more or less act like a computer, nagiging complicated masyado, hence the unseen problems. I have been in IT industry for quite some time, and pagdating sa bugs hindi mo talaga makikita lahat sa isang pasada. Ika nga, it takes 10 years to make a GOOD software...

and also if you can hookup an HDMI/S-Video/Component cable sa monitor out (kung meron) going to your LCD/Plasma. mas madali syang i-setup if you can see all the parameters and configuration sa screen ng TV mo vs. sa LCD panel ng receiver. Did this with my 606... and also used the audyssey mic to calibrate the speakers.

sir, anong volume ng TV mo? na try mo na lakasan yung volume ng TV? baka lang dependent yung lakas ng input ng RCA sa volume ng tv.

Sir yung volume ng TV should have nothing to do with this, assuming na nasa line out nakakabit yung RCAs going to the input ng 508. Pero kung may speaker out at dun nakakabit yung RCAs going to your receiver then definitely you have to increase your TV's volume level.

ibig sabihin yata nito mahina yung feed/signal ng source.  try another source e.g. ipod or any stereo source, where you can adjust the volume FROM the source.
