When i'm listening to 2-ch audio using the Pure Audio or Direct mode, the sub out is not activated on my NR1007. This only happens if the source is NMT thru HDMI, CD player thru toslink and internet radio. The sub is set always to ON sa audio adjustment. Sa internet radio naman, the sub will activate if you reset the audio setting to sub OFF then ON.

Is there a workaround here to keep it ON or OFF as you like and not just OFF all the time?

I believe Pure Audio mode is supposed to use main speakers only.

+1
I think in pure audio mode 2.0 ang speaker set-up. If you want with sub put it in "Stereo" mode kasi 2.1 na ito.

@temper & louie_18,

sa analog input naman, both pure audio and direct setting naka ON ang sub by default.

It sounds like you need a dedicated audio set-up.  ;D  Or at least an integrated amp then hook up to your existing speakers for when you listen to music.

Onkyo upgrade path...mga sir, from Onkyo 606, ano bang recommended upgrade na Onkyo din?  :)

from the 606 i jumped to the HT RC180, this is almost the same as the NR807 except the multichannel analog input and a little less power, i am not complaining as the performance is the same as the 807.

if money is not an issue, id jumped to the NR1009

sa amazon ang 808 sir or perhaps the 809, around 800 USD

Sa pilipinas around 78K ang 1009

kung mejo mabigat pa din mukhang maganda ng option and 707, 708 or 709 assuming the upgrade path still consider onkyo strongly.

Sir Onkyo606, yon nga ang plan ko, 808 from Amazon, uuwi kasi yung cousin ko from US, ipakisuyo ko na lang para wala na additional cost sa freight.

If I will consider other brand, what would you recommend? Or will you recommend other brand beside Onkyo?

New user of Onkyo and previous user of Yamaha.  IMHO, they have the same sound characteristics.  I've auditioned Denon and it is different compared to the 2 I mentioned.

My friend has an Onkyo TX DS797.  After several years, the input selector creates a crackling sound in every input such as video, cd and the like.

Can you tell me what seems to be the problem?  My friend already cleaned it with a contact cleaner.
Thanks for the  feedback if any.:)
