I actually don't use a stand alone transformer. I use a 1.5k watt AVR  :) no problem encountered so far.

Ya! When I did the math, I was surprised as well. Thanks to the low conversion rate and the thanksgiving sales pushing lower prices. (",)
Yung 509, It will visit the marketplace.. Pero baka end Dec na.
Will use it during the long breaks pa e. hehehe..

I'm excited to bi-amp my fronts. (",) hehehe.. How will it sound kaya?
Sigh.. The wait is on! 30+ days to go pa...

110V. They are the US Models. That's why.
Peron PDVD available Voltage regulators can handle them naman easily ;-)

mga sirs,

which is better for a 5.1 set-up? an Onkyo 509 or Onkyo 609? I'll set it up for our living room with a dimension of 8m x 3m. No divider for the dining area. Maybe I'll pair it up on POLK RTI A3 speakers. 80% movie 20% Music..Thanks

ilang watts ba difference ng 509 sa 609?pareho atang entry level tong dalawang model.i've read somewhere na maririnig mo lang ang improvement sa mid level model na in onkyos case is 809 ata.so i think kung sa power walang masyadong difference,sa features baka mayroon pang improvement

If you can afford the 709 go for it because you'll have the option for pre-out just incase mabitin ka sa power you'll have the option to use external power amp. But between the two, I'll go with 609  ;)

His area isn't very big, so the built-in amp may probably suffice (especially since he's looking at easy to drive speakers).

I truly agree with your suggestion though, mostly because Audyssey MultEQ XT is a serious step up from the included 2EQ in the 609.
