Hello Sirs,

Just read a review on the below link about Onkyo TXNR-818
http://www.digitaltrends.com/receivers-separates-amps-reviews/onkyo-tx-nr818-review/

What do you mean by:
- Grey-on-black labels are very difficult to read

- No digital outputs to support outboard DAC

Please advise.

- Grey-on-black labels are very difficult to read
the reviewer did not really elaborate, but i would suspect that it would be the labels on the front panel buttons. this is a non-issue as most users would prefer to use the remote anyway, and it's not that really hard to read unless you don't have good eyesight and/or you're trying to read them in low light condition

- No digital outputs to support outboard DAC
self explanatory - it has digital coax and optical inputs, but no outputs. if you're still unsure whether you want to use an outboard DAC, chances are you don't need one. if you're going to use a external DAC for stereo listening, you would most likely have a dedicated setup for audio anyway

both points above are just nitpicking and not really cons IMO

true. you'll need a light shining directly to read the labels...but then again i used the remote so not really a minus for me...

only time i felt a need for a digital out was when i didnt have the speakers and i wanted to connect the digital out to my old htib just to get a feel on how the features work..

both points above are just nitpicking and not really cons IMO

Between the 5009 and 3010, price almost the same, what would be a better choice?  Plan is for just a 9.2 setup in a 3.5 x 5.5 sqm area.

I would go for the 5009. For power output and finer construction and materials  :)

I would like to share my recent purchase of Onkyo AVR, The TX-NR818.

Bought Polk Audio Rti A5 and looking for a subwoofer.

Hello Sirs,

What can you recommend Polk Audio DSW Pro660wi or SVSPB1000?

Please advise.

if you take shipping into account, mga nasa 27k landed price ng 809 (incl 8.75% tax). bilhin nyo ang pre-owned 809 at 32k sa marketplace, mura na yon.
