I agree with the fan. The interior of the AVR can get pretty hot, pretty fast. Wish I did something similar since had a glass divider two inches above the top of the AVR.

My Onkyo's HDMI board died on me a few months ago, and thinking this could be one cause (on top of subpar quality boards they used on some production runs, as confirmed by Onkyo some months ago). Would cost me 15k to replace, so opting to use my HDMI Front with an HDMI switch. :(

sirs,

I have problem with my onkyo 508 na 110V which plugged in sa 110v outlet and when I'm watching movies then meron sobrang lakas na LFE eh nag rerestarted yung AVR. Saglit lang naman mga 2 seconds naka ON na ulit yung avr. pero when I lower the volume on the same scene na may malakas na LFE di naman nag rereset?

Any advice?

TIA!

Check your speaker settings. Baka kailangan itaas ang xover point so low frequencies won't go through the speakers. Ganyan din old Pio ko.

Yes try mo and play at the same volume and the same track. Kapag hindi nag-trip, yun na yun.

shutdown! 508 couldn't handle it. Tama si sir Nelson try to lower x over or if don't push the receiver too much baka power hungry din mga speakers mo. Under powered speakers can lead to damage on receiver and speakers

I've tried lowering the xover to 120 but it's still the same. nag rereset pa din sa malakas na lfe.

I've check my wires naman wala naman shorted bro.

hi just want to check form the experts... I was going through my audessy setting and found that the crossover set for my LCR and surrounds is at 40hz.  ok lang ba to or should i set it a 80hz?  i tried setting it a 80 pero parang wala namang noticeable difference so i just set it back at 40.  Suggestion is highly appreciated baka mas recommended to set it at 80 even if there is no difference (i think) or should i just leave it based on the calibration result. Im using polk RTi series for my LCR.

TIA.

most advice in the net is to set it at 80....pero i guess preference lang talaga.... most onkyo receiver would set it lower than 80 unless siguro satellite speakers mo.....in my case 40 din yung sinet ng onkyo pero i measured the frequency readings front and subwoofer together...mas flat kung 80 ang settings...sa pandinig ko rin mas ok and 80...hope this help

@louie - I'm using Polk rti a5 and cs 10

@yygoob - thanks sir been reading from the net and suggested is at 80 nga. Will try again if there will be difference using 80.

Also noticed that my ohm rating was set at 6ohms and based from Polk specs my LCR is at 8ohms. Tried changing it in my AVR but options are 4 and 6 only. Ok Lang kaya Ito? Feeling ko naman di di nahihirapan ung AVR.

^ Ok lang to set it at 6ohms...
Set your fronts and center na lang to 80Hz...
Then the LPF for LFE to 120Hz.

solve na ba ito? dati kasi may na encounter din ako ganito sa 508 ko, try mo sir configure yung sa SP Config, set mo yung front mo to Small speakers pag naka set kasi sa Large talagang nangyayari to sa Onkyo 508 eh lalo na kung naka set pa sa on yung Double Bass..HTH. :)

solved na to sir. 110v kasi yung onkyo and naka plug sa 110v outlet. eh naisip kong gumamit ng step down transformer at rekta sa 220v. ayun so far ok na. tingin ko hindi maganda grounding ng 110v kaya kinukulang sa kuryente.
