Sony Wega
« on: Jul 02, 2006 at 10:53 AM »
What is happening with sony's TV's? ???  My 4 year old wega flat 21 inch TV just turned green.  This is the first time it manifested problems and quite surprised with it.  Brought it to a sony service center for problem evaluation.  I was shocked to hear from them that the problem is the tube itself, much more they said that the repairs/replacements would cost me 11T.  What the!!!!! :o. Bought the unit for 18K and they will charge me 11K for repairs..nyeehhhh.

This nailed sony for me.  I got several lemons na from them and been pretty much frustrated with their products.. Am I die hard sony but with what I'm getting, I'd rather go korean or the others!!!!!!

Coco ;D

Hi all.

went to a display room which shows a 34" wega and 2 29" sparkling models.
the 34" and one of the 29" sparkling wega is somewhat reddish in color as compared
to the other 29" sparkling.

those sets reddish in color have FM tuners in them. is this the case?

thanks

TOKYO, Mar 03, 2008 (Thomson Financial via COMTEX) -- Japanese electronics giant Sony Corp said Monday that it will end all production of cathode ray tube (CRT) televisions by the end of the month, four decades after they were launched, as consumers switch to flat-screen TVs.
