Topic: Stores that can test LCD or Plasma TV with cable TV reception

Guys,

Can you point me to a appliance store /shop that sells LCD tv's or plasma Tv's and that could allow me to test its reception on cable TV programs? Im in the market for an LCD /Plasma TV but most stores cannot show me actual reception on cable TV. Incidentally, Ill be using it  about 70/30, more on viewing cable TV . Di kaya, those that already own LCD/plasma TV's, can you post your feedback on this and the brand /model of TV you have.

I have a 32-inch LCD.  Sky signal is snowy and disappoints.  I might need a signal amplifier, given the distance of my room to the conduit.  Dream reception is good but could be better maybe-- if only my receiver had HDMI output. I'm using component cables now.

I didn't find a store that had cable TV set-up for customers to try.  Listening in Style and Sights and Sounds at Shang Mall said they didn't have the connection to test their units.

Im using a cable signal amplifier to feed my CRT tv pixelplus and PQ is good. I am hoping that my planned upgrade to LCD tv would show the same PQ. Try a cable signal amp then pls. give feedback. BTW im conected with destiny cable.

OT:  I was one of the early subscribers of Destiny, including their cable broadband service.  Kaya lang, without notice, they delisted the Food Channel (which is the primary reason we subscribed). I protested.  They must have heard, but didn't care.  This disappointed the household, most especially my chef wife.  So we terminated our contract and moved to Sky.  We stopped endorsing their broadband service as well and moved to Smart wifi which was cheaper and in our area, stable enough to justify out sticking to it.

I orignally wanted a Panasonic plasma for my home theather But during delivery  I asked them to demo the cable tuner so that i see how it performs w/ my cable connection . but the pictures i got was nice enough that i ended up paying an additional  21k for the cable tuner  . And that is how my plasma ended up as our main TV, not as our home theather. ..

So now it's 95% used for cable broadcast using destiny ... I got last October from listening in style festival mall.

this is good feedback ! Want to clarify lang, is the "cable tuner" different from the normal built in tuner of LCD or plasma TV's or you are talking of the same thing?

my plasma is an industrial type Panasonic  PW7 . The tuner is an option blade or card that plugs into the plama display . Normally they sell this type of display only w/rgb inputs.. Additional pa ang composite at component input cards..

hmmm interesting yung booster ah. What would be the best way to make TV signal look good sa 32" LCD display? Is there any box i can buy that i can insert inbetween the TV and the cable such that it would upsample or enhance the signal in such a way na it would be close to HD na?

joms, there are lots of cable tv signal amplifiers around and they really work. Try to look for them in handy man or ace hardwares.
