Cerwin Vega speakers
« on: Apr 11, 2006 at 07:29 PM »
Are there Cerwin Vega Speaker fans in the house? Please post your speakers.
I've got an old pair of Cerwin Vega D9 speakers. These are 15 inch party speakers in the 70s I understand. They pour out an awesome volume of bass. The Speaker cabinet though is not as good as the Yamaha NS1000m cabinet or  the yamaha NS690 cabinet.

in the 90's my dad has a Cerwinvega! AT-15 and its really loud. We used to live in Pasig and every time we play our CV AT-15, the sound scope is just so wide and loud! even the sound fills the streets. it is powered by a old school 200watt/p/ch. harman kardon pre and power amplifier, eq. by peavy 32band, and using the technics SL-1200's TT... kalakasan pa nila milli-vanilli, mc hammer, vanilla ice, 2 live crew, C & C music factory, dirty rap, earth wind and fire, menudo, sybil, etc...

at ang ka usuhan pa ng sayaw noon ay running man hehehe! those were the days...

specs:
Cerwin Vega AT-15 Floorstanding Loudspeakers,
400watt continuous (1,000+ watts Peak) @ 4ohms,
28Hz - 28kHz Freq. Response,
102dB.

Cerwin Vega owners, meron ba?

Napansin ko lang po, parang walang thread tungkol sa CErwin Vega speakers dito sa PDVD, wala bang gumagamit ng CV dito?

I happened to buy a second hand Cerwin Vega 250SE. It's a three way speaker with 10" woofer, 5" midrange and a small horn tweeter. Here's the picture:
It's maximum power output is 115 watts rms with sensitivity of 95db and a recommended amplification of 10 watts to 125 watts. Very good for T-amp because of high sensitivity and provides good bass for a 10 watts T-amp. But all its potentials can be unleashed if used with a high current receiver/amplifier. In my case, i hooked it with a Denon PMA120 with high current 115 watts rms output. It sounds great especially with live unplugged/acoustic recordings. The highs are in great detail, the mids are solid and you won't need a subwoofer because it delivers really great lows.

Are there other users of cerwin vega there? Kindly share your experience.

Oweida & Ricky

Naka-jackpot ako dito. Originally, what i'm asking from the seller was his pair of KEF Q10 for my T-amp, unfortunately (or fortunately) may nauna sa akin. He offered to me his CV 250SE for Php 7.5K but still in the end napilit ko sa Php 6.5K. He rated this speakers 9.5 of possible 10 and i agree with him. I just wonder how it sounds with vinyl? ;)
