Baby, I'm sorry to contradict you, but I've never known that to be the case with VIVA for their Fox blockbuster releases. I've never known them to release a 2-disc version after a 1-disc version in an attempt to coerce local consumers to double dip. In fact, when FOX in the US issued
The Day After Tomorrow and
I-Robot as single disc releases initially, making R1 buyers double dip months later for a 2 disc version, the initial R3 release of VIVA for these titles had 2-Disc versions already immediately available.
The only titles I can remember that might qualify was the initial release of a 1-Disc
X-Men followed by a 2-Disc
X-Men 1.5, but... that was also what Fox did in the States with that title. Also for the
Predator titles, but these collector's editions happened years after the initial barebones releases, just like with their R1 counterparts.
