Ayan pare ang tanong na madalas ko madinig  ;D Honestly before i bought these jbls nag audition talaga ako ng maige,I have 2 other set-ups pa din kasi na JBL din kaya sabi ko i should try to get a new brand. But when i auditioned other brands including the B&Ws both 600 and 700 models(as suggested by my friend bote) Hindi na-satisfy yung hinahanap ko :-[ May lahi yata akong canine eh ;D kaya i prefer my speakers to be on the high-frequency side(makalansing) which unfortunately yung B&Ws hindi ganon. bilugan ang dating ng tunog ng B&W sa akin(ears ko ang MAY fault),kulang sa tining. Dont get me wrong ha all praises ako sa B&Ws ;)kaya lang im the guy who would not buy something that i would not be contented with :-[ dapat gusto ko talaga bago ako mag bayad ;D so after a long and tedious audition,sa JBL pa din yung bagsak ko ;D Which my friend bote really grilled me for buying :-\ pero after nya i-calibrate naconvince din sya why i chose this model, kAsi na compare nya sa b&w nya na mas ok pala for movies ito kasi labas talaga yung HFs ;) But its just me siguro kasi bihira dito sa site natin yung naka JBL,pang oldie/rockers kasi yung brand ha ha ha. Kaya if ever na mag set-up ulit ako malamang yung JBL STUDIO L series naman buy ko ;D ;D ;D and another thing sobra ang tibay ng jbls, yung una ko set (paired with onkyo 525) kung gamitin akala mo nasa disco pero ni minsan hindi nag-clip :o ;D yung other pair naman (paired with yamaha 800) ginagamit sa videoke,up to now ok pa din kahit pangit boses nung gumagamit ;D sensya na ang haba ng answer ko,ikaw kasi eh ;D So guys for pure HT applications try to audition the JBLs,80-90% of quality cinemas uses them ;)

i know what you mean ;D to each his own pare  :) that's right well known naman ang jbl for great quality sounds e. afaik the academy of tv arts and sciences, and mann's chinese theater use jbl! locally napansin ko powerplant ata uses jbl din ;D kanya kanyang taste lang naman e. i personally prefer the b&w sound, yung mataba ang tunog( i think audiophiles describe it as "warm")

ok pala sa inyo a! may sinehan na, may disco at KTV pa! no need to go out of the house! ;D

ok lang mahaba answer i like hearing other people's experiences ;D there are'nt many people into this hobby, dito lang sa forum ako nakakapagkwentuhan about ht :P most people don't understand this hobby. most people i know are into car audio and setup w/c i have very little interest in :P iisa lang nga kilala ko here in our town who is into home theater e :(

it will take me years of hard work and saving up to be able to afford the 800 series ;) ;) but for ht happy na ko sa 600series. in the future malamang 600series lang din siguro bibilhin ko, by that time malamang series 4 na hahaha

bossing ET414,

great set up talaga. ganda ng mga gears. halos ganyan din kasi target ko.
Rotel Amp with the 604's.

Still more power and CHEERS sayo!

ok naman ang onkyo-rotel, but i can't really compare it w/ other combos kasi eto pa lang naririnig ko in my setup. mahirap magcomment pag narinig ko lang sa demo kasi baka iba na tumunog sa house ko.

the sound is warm imo. adding the amp was a very good investment for me. dati kasi mejo nagiging compressed yung tunog when i play at high levels. ngayon hindi na ;D nagulat talaga ako when i first tried it out. When I played Gladiator(my fave movie) w/c i've seen a dozen times, napawow ako ;D the soundtrack really came alive! nagimprove din yung surrounds ko! my 601's are now spitting out things iv'e never noticed before  :) iba talaga power rating ng rotel ;D

the truth is i wasn't expecting too much. may nagsabi kasi sakin na walang magiging difference if i just use the onkyo as prepro. well that wasn't the case for me :) i'm totally happy w/ my purchase ;D

if you can swing it, try borrowing a power amp. iba talaga pag sa bahay mo e. your familiar w/ the sound of your system. good luck to you!

pareho tayo experience, having AVR's as pre/pros....

after experimenting with AVRs as pre/pros, the next logical upgrade would be hdmi equipped (future proofing) dedicated pre/pros.  That would be taking up a notch in improvements sonically, I believe.  hmmmm, but that would cost a finger or two for me now, hehehehe. :)

you know what, i think it would take a while before they break the code with those HD disc.  The HD-a1 in US go as low as 370 dollars na. if ever it goes the range of 300 I might find a way to have it shipped here than pay the P35k that is sold locally. and I know it will soon reach that number coz of the news of european models coming out.  and orig discs arent that expensive, on the average, $20-25 a pop, thats the price of most 2 disc SE DVDs... :)

hmmm, the box is pretty huge.....im sure napakamahal ng shipping nito from US, if padala sa relative, you run the risk of getting it taxed, heavily by customs people

it could have been an easy decision kung medyu bumaba yung local prices....swipe na, then convert na lang paylite para di mabigat, hahahaha.... ;D ;D

my only experience of being taxed by customs is when me and my friends came from singapore a couple of years ago. naguwi kasi yung friend ko ng osim foot and leg massager. its in a huge box(about 2x the size of the a1) and costs about the same. he ended up paying about P1500 in customs and duties w/c i think isn't too bad. d ko lang nga alam kung pano "computation" nya pero may receipt naman :P

hintayin na lang natin maging available sa hongkong! mura lang naman sa tiger e hehehe plus d pa strict sa clark ;D

ET414 , oo nga pala i forgot to ask din kung ok ba ung 1075 mo sa 604?
most fo the folks out here goes for the 1080 if you have the 604, kukulangin daw kc ung 1075.

but for you as personal experience, suave na ba o kulang talaga?

you post @ htguide right? nagtanong din ako dun before and most people recommended the 1075. they said it could drive anything up to entry level 800 series and their probably right :) hindi ka na mabibitin sa sa 1075 especially if you use a sub pare.

yung 1080 kasi they recommend it for 2channel listening or as an upgrade from a 5.1 to a 7.1 channel system

Sabi rin kc nga ni bossing MATz and Munskie ganon nga ang maging upgrade path ko!

Tnx and more power to you! OO  nga pala, pag nagawa mo ung 800 series + Classe combo parinig ha! :)

sa panaginip ko na lang yung 800+classe hahaha ang gwapo sana maski nautilus series lang kaso d lang speakers papalitan mo pati amp pa :P d na kaya ng powers ko yun :'(
