according to the website mostly aesthetics only...
      *grills are now mounted magnetically
*bolts are now with tinned coatings
*with additional color available the wenge finish

on the acoustics side they said they tweaked the xovers "aka phase coherrent"  that is now almost same as a horn loaded speakers.

      I  knew coz I have one  ;)

Theses babies will be with me for verry looong time.

Anyone use the Studio 20s?  How do they compare with the Titan or the Mini Monitor for music both with and without a sub?  Thanks.

the 20s has better refinement especially in mids and highs. you may not need a subwoofer with the 20s if youll be using them within a room not bigger than 16m2.
these speakers sound good especially if driven with a powerful amp (its when youll feel the good bass).

sir rastasega;

good morning, pasingit po mga koya..
anung version po ng titan ang balak nyong kunin?
mine is titan V6, sinubukan ko pong ilagay to sa kwarto ko(just for an experiment) in place of my B&W 303..kung maliit ang area, BOOMY!.masakit sa ulo at sa dib dib..
kung maluwag naman ung place at medyo maganda ang treatment, i can say, that my new titan v6 is as good as my beloved 602 s3, lamang pa nga ng kaunti eh.. ;)

by the way, ung titan v6 po ay front and rear ported..
para saken po sir, ill get the titan..
you can tame its boominess with your avr.
besides, HT naman ang set up mo, your SUBwoofer itself will be boomy pag maliit ung area mo..

Sir,

How's the performance of the titan on stereo music? Does it have a wide soundstage?  How much?

Thanks

Mini Monitor vs Titan

dear Paradigm users, since these two fine bookshelf speakers are arguably closely related (price wise, ok 4-5k difference), now its a bit confusing choosing one over the other.

so for those very familiar with both Titan and Mini Monitor here at Pdvd,

(intended for stereo music, average room, and price isnt an issue)

in contrast to Titans, how would you rate/evaluate Mini Monitor in terms of...

1) soundstage presence -
2) bass control -
3) overall sound quality/performance -

----
are they at par to each other or one is significantly better than the other? whats your take?

any input would be highly appreciated. thank you  :)

Hello Paradigm users,

I've been scouting for my first speakers (fronts) and I came across Paradigm Monitor 9v5 selling at S$963. Any users of this speaker? Most of the forums I've read are matching these speakers with B&W so I guess they are on the same level in terms of price and performance?

Which receiver will match well with these speakers? I'm leaning towards either Denon (1911) or HK (255).

And just to add, I'm torn between other speakers like: Dali Ikon 5, Monitor Audio BR5, and Mission M64i. By the way, all speakers are almost on the same price range.

TIA!  ;D

wow talaga?  ;D since madalas sya icompare sa B&Ws, same league ba? I almost narrowed down my choice to either the BR2 and Ikon 5 but then I saw this Monitor 9v5 na naka sale. Very tempting  ;D

digms are usually commented being on bright/warm side, due to it's metal dome tweets. so, you need to pair them with neutral or SS amps.  :D

Finally got my first fronts, its a Monitor 7 v6. I'm surprised on how it sounded out of the box. Sabi ko nga sa sarili ko "hindi kaya eto yung naka display na ginagamit pang demo  ???

Anyway, I auditioned it side by side with Monitor 9 v5. IMHO, Monitor 9 has deeper bass (having bigger woofer of course) but the mids and highs are the same (for my untrained ears). The listening room was quite big so I can feel the advantage of Monitor 9. Since I'll be using the speakers in my room only and have plans on getting a sub someday, decided to go for 7.

Funny thing was, I have the MA BR5, Ikon 5, and Mission M64i in mind when I went out to audition. Don't get me wrong, these are not bad speakers. Its just that I find Paradigms better (IMHO). Iba talaga pag inaudition mo.

Anyway break in muna. Btw, I paired it with Denon 1911  ;D

^Congratz! another digms proud owner.  ;D  ;D

if your denon has preouts to connect ext. power amps and if you have chance to get one, you will hear the big difference esp. on mid & hi frequency region.

It's based on my experience when I was using Denon 2802 + Studio 60v2. the I connected the amp and play music & movies it's like I changed my speakers ....  ;D  ;D  ;D

thanks audiojunkie! I also heard Monitor 7 v6 speakers paired with Rotel RA-1520 and I must say I'm impressed. Pano pa kung power amp? Unfortunately walang pre-out yung 1911 (33xx yung meron). Besides, sa maliit na room ko lang naman gagamitin (palusot pa, wala talagang pambili ng power amp  ;D ).
