It's out na daw at P550 according to the Now Available thread.

DVD-9 din ba ito?

It's a single disc DVD-9 with insert.  :)

Yup. DVD-9. I just tested this. Great video and audio quality. (especially the start and the one with the "fast and the furious" type cars who were fooling with Mac). Plus story wise, this is one of my favorites. At least, it's not a compressed DVD-5 unlike Magna's P475 new releases.

That's great pricing by Viva. I feel this title will run out of stocks before it hits the P299 mark (like Star Wars episode II, Day After Tomorrow, Lion King).

I also don't see any wrong spellings with the packaging this time and no misleading information (DTS which is non-existent, etc). Kudos to Viva...

Bring on Pirates of the Caribbean 2!

Easter Egg ==>  Wait about 20 seconds under the main menu, a "Dinco 400" logo will appear. This will lead you to a short clip that Lightning McQueen & Mater playing Pixar's perivous short film "Boundin".

 ;D ;D ;D

Buti na lang may insert ngayon.  Although hindi Amaray yung casing nya.

I think the Little Mermaid was a better deal at P550 because of the packaging itself.

Got myself a copy last friday for the kids.  hehehe.  Di pwedeng palagpasin eh.

Thanks.  ;)

My DVD player, as well PwwerDVD, only indicates Dolby 5.1.

How come the Epilogue bonus feature features signs in Chinese , although the language is in English?

Some DVD players do not indicate that it is DD Ex even if it actually is. Have you tried plugging in any of your Star Wars or Harry Potter DVDs? These are all encoded in DD Ex regardless of regions.

Thanks, sir lord_vader.  Will check my Harry Potter DVDs tonight.  Actually, whether it's DD EX or DD 5.1, I'm not sure if it will have any effect on my system since we're just using the regular stereo speakers (with bass booster) of our television.

The title of the "One Man Band" short in the animation itself (before the curtain opens for the first musician) is also written in Chinese characters.

It retails for 550 in all video stores (Astrovision, Video City, etc.). I don't know why it's 850 it that store you just mentioned. Di kaya naduling ka lang? Or maybe naduling yung person who put the tag price. 850 is a weird price for a Viva release kasi. I haven't seen a DVD, be it from Magna, Warner or Viva, priced at 850 bucks nowadays.

thanks sa mga heads up nyo ha...but still im thinking of getting the R3...coz habul ko talaga sa movie na yan sounds...specially the engine rev part on the first part of the film....
Malaki ang pagkakaiba ng 5.1 kaysa sa EX ...even if you have a stereo sound u will notice it...you can also try Blade, naka EX din...
hope som1 can confirm if Cars R3 is really EX encoded  ;)

According to the experts in this forum, if the Region 1 is encoded in DD EX, then it goes the same for all regions. Plus, majority of those films after 2001 actually have DD EX. Please click this link for reference:

Cars R3 is indeed encoded in EX. Popped it into my system last night. My Harman Kardon receiver display indicates all 7.1 channels active.

Thanks for the info. Its within the hypermart area of mall of asia, near the exit door kahanay ng magazines, CDs, etc. It was priced P850 same as X-Men III. Went back there yesterday, biglang nawala. Mukhang nagkamali nga ng pricing.

Wait at the earliest 6 months or at least a year.

Thanks DVD_Freak!

I guess I'd rather wait for the release of the 2 disc set instead of buying the 1 disc. Although this is not as good as the rest of the previous Pixar films release, it's still good to have this in 2disc for our colllection don't you think?  ;D

True a 2-disc set is a must have in any collectors' shelf.  My suggestion....like what I'm gonna do....get the cheaper 550 R3 from Viva.  Pass on the more expensive R1.  Then wait for the 2-disc R1 set when it comes out.  Enjoy it on DVD now.  Sulit na siya for 550.
