Further Details:
Fox/MGM Home Entertainment has announced a two-disc collector's edition of Silence of the Lambs which stars Anthony Hopkins, and Jodie Foster. The set will be available to own from the 30th January, and should be priced at around $26.98. Extra material will include an Inside the Labyrinth making of documentary, a two part 'Page to Screen' documentary, a Jonathan Demme and Jodie Foster three-part documentary (The Beginning, Making The Silence of the Lambs, and Breaking the Silence), a Scoring the Silence featurette, and an original 1991 making-of featurette. Completing the package will be twenty-two deleted scenes, outtakes, TV spots, an Anthony Hopkins phone message, and trailers. On top of all that, the set will carry a four-page booklet and exclusive Hannibal Lecter recipe cards.

If they will include the commentary of Foster, Hopkins & Demme, then this is the best dvd release. It will beat the OOP CC.

Some of the docus were already included on the single disc MGM release. This is one film that you want to revisit over and over again from the opening haunting musical score of Howard Shore, down to the final showdown between Clarice & Hannibal Lecter.

Fox/MGM?  MGM is with Sony right?  Anyway I hope this have better PQ and SQ.  Very nice cover Art.  I presumed that it's with slip case.  Maybe a faux or just a carton.  Who knows. :)

The investors in the MGM purchase had a clause in their contract that if Sony failed at selling MGM's old catalogue of films on DVD, the DVD rights of these 4,000 titles could be sold to another company. Since Sony's sales of MGM DVDs have been very bad, the investors sold the DVD rights for these films to Fox for $625 Million this year.

 ;D I have been waiting for this release. So, correct me if I'm wrong, I'm assuming that there'll be no commentary like from the Criterion release ??? Because if it did, this release will render the CC a rather unattractive release. It's not even anamorphic.

Will get this one for sure.  ;D
