i also saw the ad regarding sa HK245 na 20k.. i'm planing to get it. it's either that or Denon 1708.

currently using Denon 1907.

mas ok ba talaga SQ ng HK compared to Denon.  Speakers are 5.1 Stright Focal Chorus Series.

Reson for upgrade is the HDMI. also 50W/ch lng ang HK 245 compare to Denon na nasa 75 to 85w

and sa nakabili ng HL 220V ba yun?

I am getting an HK 3380 by the end of the month or early next month for a dedicated 2-channel listening.

Ok ba ito or may mas-better brands out there for the same price?

Advice naman po kayo jan.

Guys,

Do u have any feedbacks abt hk avr2000 and hk avr 4000 (310)?
Which is better HK AVR4000? or Yamaha RXV-8000?

 :)

Thanks in advance
these are beefy AVRs...
both great for HT
for audio, i would go for the yammie

but if you already have existing gears to start with, test them both.

A little something to share guys. Just had a great discovery with my settings o my HK AVR335. Tried and set all my speakers to "LARGE" and the result was outrageous. It sounded bigger and the surround envelope feeling was more enclosed. The surrounds were more defined and blended accurately with my fronts. This is kinda odd because I know for a fact that most audiophiles here set their speakers to small. Since day 1 when I bought my 335, I've always used "LARGE" for my fronts and "SMALL" for my surrounds and back surrounds. But now I'm really enjoying my discovery. Its like my avr was given a major "THX kick". But this is just me guys. The rest of you might experience otherwise.  ;)

thats why its been repeatedly repeated ::) in these forums to get the best power your money can buy!

In an HT mag article I read about budget/ entry level to flagship AVR's comparisons, lower powered receivers sacrifice their surround power to make sure the fronts get enough juice. This was shown with distortion tests & charts for all class AVR's.

Thats why higher level receivers or power-amped setups sound "bigger" (& are meant for bigger rooms) because there is enough juices flowing for the surrounds.

:D :D Just realized I haven't juiced up my avr since then. I really enjoy what I'm hearing now considering I have no sub right now. Standing by for my incoming Velo cht12r.

Question lang po HT enthusiasts. Does HK receivers do a good job in handling yamaha speakers? Or would you recommend yamaha receivers for yamaha speakers?  Thanks!

There's always a very good reason for matched devices. Yamaha receivers would surely sound fit. But that doesn't exclude using other avr's. I'm sure using HK would sound great as well.  ;)

Bro, you can audition HK3380 at Digital Dreams, SM North Edsa or at Acoustical Space, Megamall.  I think may bago ng version nito, the HK 3480.

Last year I think the SRP is more or less 16K for the 3480 if not mistaken.  I asked for the price of this when I auditioned an HK cdp.

Romevenom,

Nakita ko rin yang HK 347 sa Amazon.com less than 500 dollars at mga P21T sa pera natin. Mura talaga lalo na kung bigay lang sa yo. Tapos me DCDi at gaya ng sinabi mo 2 HDMI input at 1 output. Me naglabas dito niyan medyo mahal lang. Sana maibaba din nila presyo para 220v kasi tama Gearhead 120v galing US. Pag dumating na yan balitaan mo kami.

Sir dumating na po ung receiver ko.

Guys,

My question lang ako about HK/AVR230 how to increase sub volume? i bought kc a subwoofer from diy master sabi nya baka matulungan nyo daw ako, wala kasing lumalabas na sound sa sub.
