need some advice...all 3 optical inputs of my hk avr230 suddenly went dead. i checked all other audio connections and they were fine. i also checked all my speaker connections, but everything was ok. while using any of the optical connections, there is no sound. i once cranked up the volume to the max and a short burst of sound from the video i was watching came out. currently using coax connections, ayaw talaga nung optical inputs. what do you guys think? thanks.  ???

(did this during first turn on from the box)

Have you tried tinkering with the set-up?  Is the Input set to OPTICAL?

yup. have been using the optical inputs for a long time na, 1 for my dvd player and 1 for my xbox360. bigla na lang nawala yung sound last week. the system doesnt seem to recognize the connection because when i choose the optical input, lumalabas "unlock" sa osd. pati yung optical input sa harap ng system hindi na rin gumagana.

Hi Pietro,

Have you tried replacing the DVD player and/or the optical cable? The problem might be the digital source i might be wrong though

You can also try using the Optical cable to another equipment (if possible), para lang ma rule out yung possibility na yung cable yung problem. :)

Hi everyone! I am a new user of HK receiver.
Would like to know if the flip down panel of AVR630 can still be repaired and where can i bring it for repair. The problem with the panel is that it stays open and can't be closed anymore. The unit was bought in the U.S kaya hindi ako maka-claim ng warranty dito. So far, I am happy with the unit and no problem encountered except for this minor one. TIA   :)

bro baka dapat ma check din kung ano issue sa set-up mo.  baka may nag so short or something.  kaya pagbalik mo, baka nasira ulit.
In short, dapat ma check yung set-up mo at baka yan ang root cause ng issues with your AVR
(nabiktima si AVR)

Thnx for the advice...will try to check on my other components later. nagtataka lang talaga ako kung bakit yung optical inputs lang yung nasisira.

Good to hear things are back to normal.  Baka nung inuwi mo bro merong fluctuations or something na nag disable nung connections mo.  Kaya nung nag reset ka, back to normal.
Ako coax agad, kasi mas reco ni Chadd ang sound kesa digital.  Masaya naman ako so far sa sound kaya hindi na ako nag try mag digital.
