I helped my friend to set-up his HK AVR5800 due to low audio output. I found that aside from setting all speakers to small, every DSP and other audio setting, the volume of every channel has to be increased or adjusted.Just not sure if this configuration is typical to all models..(it's no harm to check)...  ;D  ;D

Kroms,

Assuming powered sub yan check your cable connection for the signal from the amp to the sub.  Also, you have to access the on-screen display and activate that you have a sub connected baka naka 2 channel setting ka lang bossing.

Good luck!

Hi guys, has anyone seen the new HK AVR models, 155, 255, 355?  Well, they definitely look good, very elegent, very clean :)  Supports HD surround modes na din.  Just called AA, unfortunely, walang pang available units.  Any idea how much would it cost here.? I was looking at AVR 355 over the internet, it was somewhere around $700.

to all,

good day po!

i would like to ask po sana for your help or suggestion regarding hk135.

it's a 6.1 receiver, does the 6.1 channel will work if i'm gonna use an optical cable, or do i still need a dvd disc which has a 6.1 audio output also.

i'm currently using an rca cable connected to my dvd's 5.1 channel, which obviously will not result to 6.1 channel output.

what can you suggest po

hoping for your pm or reply, thanks in advance po sa inyo  ;D

Otepsy,

It's hard to hear the difference in sound output of Digital Coaxial and Optical cable.
It think they are just both the same. Just make sure that your Coaxial cable is DIGITAL not ANALOG. Its your chance to compare it, give us a feedback if your the difference.

sir rome,

when you say "Just make sure that your Coaxial cable is DIGITAL not ANALOG", what do you exactly mean? i have an optical cable, rg59, i've tried and used it as coaxial and it works, but the problem is the dialogue/voice(which normally comes out sa center, also comes out sa front channels. tried to select dts audio already, but still the same

i've already selected coaxial 1 on my hk receiver, and it has the same audio output po

any recommendations mga sirs? thanks in advance

Hi,

Not all coaxial cables can carry digital signals. There are two types of coaxial cables, Digital and Analog. Analog coaxial capable cannot carry digital signals. Sir just use your optical cable and select optical cable 1 on your HK receiver (not coaxial cable 1). I'm very much sure it will carry digital signals.

Thanks!

Digital coaxial is also known as  S/PDIF coaxial cable - Capable of carrying digital audio signals.
One type of analog coaxial cable is the RG59/22 cable - Usually seen in your cable or sat TV.
