About to plug my japanese slim ps3 to a 220v power outlet even if the marking at the bottom says 100v.Wish me luck!
A year ago I previously used my PS3 to play HD files via option 1 but with a DVDR not an HDD. Since i have an exponentialy growing collection the conversion-burning-playing-change disk process eventually had a toll on me. My solution? I bought Popcornhour A100, but i sold the PCH already in exchange for HDX1000.PS3 for my games, HDX1000 for my MKVs.
I now have over 1.5TB of DIVX, XVID, MPG and MKV videos on those drives and thus have hundreds of hours of videos to watch in SD and/or HD. MKV of course has to be converted using MKV2VOB
Am I correct in understanding that the PS3 can also be used as an NMT given that it has wireless and network capabilities? Kung ganun, why buy an NMT? (<-noob query)
Mkv playback is the last format needed to make the PS3 truly a NMT. It does that now via networking but its buggy. It's just a matter of time before Sony will add a mkv feature in their machines including the PS3. Naiwan sila sa mp3 generation and I'm sure ayaw na nila maiwan sa mkv. Samsung and Panasonic is already adding mkv playback on their products.
I bought the PS3 Slim last week at Data Blitz podium and so far... no problems. I plugged it at once to 220V since I researched it naman. I left it overnight to download some demos and no problems din!
Confirmed na ba that all PS3's slim and/or fat are autovolt? Have a US Fat version... read somewher that its really autovolt but still don't have the guts to try it out.
Hi guys. I have a US version PS3, and I plug it into 220volts here locally. Its the phat 80GB version CECHK01 version launched around Sept 2008. Its autovolt, no problems naman.
Thank you for your response.Your PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system SHOULD work with 220v power IF you use a power converter/adaptor, but the device you use to convert the power may damage your system and void the warranty. I hope this helps.Regards,Rachael F.
The PS3 might be autovolt already. Some gadgets I bought from the US were autovolt. But it's still not a guarantee though.
yup, but to be sure, you can check it in the manual.
The manual won't say if it's autovolt. For my slim (from Japan), I had to consult websites where they disassembled it (please see my previous posts from the previous page).
Yun ilalim mismo ng unit sir? walang nakalagay na specs....yun part na .......input: 100-240V.
So, is ps3 slim alreay autovolt?
Hi, i got one from data blitz also and its a US version, is your a US version in which you plugged into 220v?by the way this player also plays BD from side walks in China...not bad
