Really? I didnt have the guts to plug it in a 220v outlet.  ;D

PS3 is perfect for a Bluray player as long as Sony would include a free remote control.

Im using 20gb NTSC J (from Japan not Singapore) and labels say 110v but I can use with 220V here.  I think all NTSC UC and NTSC J sets have the same auto-volt capability. Im just not so sure about the latest 80gb models.

Bought myself a US PS3, 120V. Not indicated if it's autovolt of compatible with 220v.

The video of the PS3 in my HDTV  looks really bad. I need to buy a Component video or HDMI. Where can I buy this accessories? And also the Blu Ray remote.

bro kieron, you can look around shops at Viramall Greenhills for the component and HDMI cables. As for the bluetooth remote, i got mine at Datablitz Greenhills  ;)

The HDMI cables can be bought at hi-end video shops like Cardinal in V-Mall or TheaterWorks in Trinoma. Prices vary from length and quality. The more insulated the better. Cheap ones tend to produce green noise on the picture. Be sure that you can return it if it does. I bought my blu ray remote from Data Blitz  Mega Mall for 1,100 PhP. InfoMaxx was selling at 1600 PhP :o :o :o

I also bought my BD remote at Datablitz, I used HDMI for the LCD TV and Optical Cable for the AMP.

Any recommendation for cheap Bluray & HD-DVD movies in the Philippines? I usually buy at amazon. but If I can buy it here at minimal price difference, Why not.

I will. Just ordered HDMI cable from play-asia.com walang akong ibang source eh. nasa bacolod kasi ako. Ordered my PS3 remote from them too. Awaiting shipment nalang. Sobrang pangit talaga yung kasama lang cable. medyo ok pa pag 4:3, pag ginawa ko 16:9 pangit na sobra.

Hi guys. I need some help here. I got an Asian version ps3 and it's connected to my Denon 3803 via optical cable. My problem is playing blue ray discs, the sound is not DTs nor Dolby 5.1 channels but just Dts Neo and PLII. But with ordinary dvd's the sound is dts and dolby 5.1 channels. Did I miss any setup steps? Thanks for any help guys.

Ok thanks . I will try your suggestion. But there is a warning there that some audio signals might not play if I chose bitstream. But anyway I will try again. thanks a lot.

Last heard is that tho PS3 does have an HDMI 1.3 port, the software does not support bit stream audio. This mean even if you pick up one of those new receivers with HDMI 1.3, you won't able to enjoy DTS HD because there is no way to get the bits out of the PS3.

Is there a confirmed/announced firmware update to resolve this issue? Or it can't be resolved as it will need a certain decorder chip? Tnx

yup......no interruption in the actual updating of the firmware.......you will be warned beforehand......or your PS3 will be bricked.......use UPS as much as possible.    The downloading part can be interrupted, but not the actual update.   Scary isnt it?
