Spotted a Samsung Mosel at Avant.

This is already a Full HD (1080p) LCD.

The 40-inch costs 219k.

saw the 40" & 46" 1080p samsung at abenson glorietta. the sony bravia v series was beside and showing the same video. the bravia has a better resolution. nice to test it on my xbox 360 to see how the image is and if 1080p works :)

I was there last night. Checked it out. I dont think this unit 40 incher is the full hd 1080p. The 1080p is still on the way, It comes only in 46 and 52 inch ata. This 40 incher is a model higher ata than the r71 40 incher. Pls make confirmation guys because that guy at avant told me its not 1920x1080 tho its 2 megapixel and 6000 to 1 contrast ratio ata.

walked by a Samsung store today here in Bangkok ...
they have two new 40 inch LCDTV models :

1 has the full 1920X1080 resolution
while the other one has 1366X768

both has two HDMI inputs and a host of USB , multi-memory card inputs.

i don't understand why they still came out with the 1366X768 unit as the price difference between the two is not that big.

price for the 1920X1080 unit is very very much lower than 219K pesos.

they probably, intentionally kept it high to flush out their old models. also, they normally sell their LCD's with "packages" thats why the listed price is expensive

1920*1080 = approx. 2megapixels po.... so, yun na nga yun.... probably the Avant guy didn't try to compute 1920*1080 by himself...  :D

ya thats one thing with these sales people at these appliance store that really psst me off. They are either lazy or dont know what they are talking about. They dont educate you properly, You have to investigate yourself. On another matter, I just have to ask this bec im already confused with these salespeople. If you confront them that the hdmi vs component dont make that much of a difference. Most of them I talked to will say maybe you are not using high definition disc. So m I missing something here? What the hell is a high definition disc. All I know are dvds that we buy and when you talk about Hidef disc its either hddvd or blueray. Can you guys pls educate me on this bec. its getting frustrating I really dont know what these guys are saying hidef disc all the time. Is this the superbit? Thanks

Just for confirmation, the N71 is 1080p? I think the 1080p is just the F71 models right? because the resolution on the N71 is only 1366X768. Dont you need 1920x1080 resolution to get full HD 1080p? Thanks

pardon me.. i copy pasted the wrong link lol!!

this is the right one

yes its the f71 series you need for 1080p...

also, on the question of hi def discs..
hdmi "can" provide higher quality over component.. either 2 ways.. on my knowledge
1. an upscaling dvd player outputting 720p or 1080p thru hdmi
or
2. HD-DVD or Blu-Ray Disc player outputting over hdmi..
