FRS, POBOX, are some but limited window. try to search for them. Johnny Air did that for me before. not sure now.

a few questions for those ordering in UK ... do you order big items, such as speakers and other stuff? how much tax do they charge locally?

i used to order a lot from Amazon US and direct delivery to the Philippines, sometimes DVD's and sometimes small electronic equipment ... back in 2003 - 2006, there were no additional charges having those delivered via Fedex, then later on they started 1,700 tax for DVD's whether i order 3 or 10 disks so i stopped ordering and having the items shipped directly to Philippines

May mga items na pwdeng i-ship. Meron di pwede. Pwede mo i-"order" yun item without check out. Malalaman mo kung pwedeng i-ship and how much ang shipping cost.

Nangongolekta na pala ng tax ang Amazon sa New Jersey.  Sa NJ office ng Johnny Air ko pinapadala when I order.  So I have to compare na yun tax sa New York.  If ever, sa NY office ng Johnny Air na lang if same lang ang amount ng tax.  Mas mabilis pa delivery sa Phils. if straight to NY yun package.

Mas mataas pa rin ang tax if delivered to NY..

I was not aware of PayPal currency conversion fees. I payed 265 pounds. Paypal tacked on 8.8 pounds to my invoice. Can someone explain why this is done? I pay my CC in pesos.

Sample computation mas mataas ang exchange rate price of the item 369.99 and exchange rate at 43.7. Total of purchase if the rate at 43.7 total of 16168.53php pero hindi mas mataas exchange rate nila.  ;) ;)

^ Amazon US lets you choose whether to charge your credit card in US dollars or local currency:

"Why is Amazon.com asking for the currency of my card?

When you purchase eligible items from Amazon.com using an eligible Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card denominated in currencies supported by Amazon Currency Converter, you may be able to pay in your local currency. The Amazon Currency Converter uses several pieces of information, such as the country your card was issued in, to determine your local currency. In some cases, we might not get it right. If the wrong currency type is detected, you should select 'My card is in a different currency' and choose the correct currency of your payment method. We will store the currency you selected for your card for future eligible purchases.

Once you have selected the currency of your card, Amazon Currency Converter will automatically display your payment total in your local currency on the order summary page or the product detail page for 1-click ordering, so you know how much you are paying before you pay. If you'd rather pay for your order in U.S. Dollars (USD), click the "Switch Currency" button and choose the "USD" option when you are on the order summary page."

Mostly naman po philippine credit card gamit natin kaya mas mahap pa din ang charge and pag USD naman ang gamit na CC and peso ang pinambayad natin sa pinas may extra chrage pa din siya in conversion. So parang may extra charge pa din even USD ang CC kung ang pmababayad mo naman is philippine peso unless na may dollar acct ang buyer to pay in dollar.

I observe the same practice. Our local banks and/or credit card companies do charge lower rates compared with Amazon US.

Since you're here in the US na,
enjoy shopping via Amazon and ebay sir,...
Always choose standard shipping, the USPS is very efficient in delivering items,...
