Guys would this be ok with a 5.1 setup?

front : Polk audio Tsi 200
Center : Wharfedale 9cs or polk audio cs10 or 20? lcd tv is 40"
Rear : Wharfedale 9dfs
Sub : classic polk audio psw100 ( will change din soon )

receiver to get might be the yammy 663. will polk sound good on yamaha's ba?

Match your front sound stage. If Polk TSi, go with the center designated for the Polk TSi line-up.

If Wharfedale 9.CS, go for the Wharfedale 9.1 for your fronts.

Why don't you go for an all polk audio set up:
front: TSi400 or TSi300 floorstanding
Center: CS10 or CS20
Rear: TSi100 or TSi200 bookshelf
Sub: PSW110 or PSW125

Id agree... if you're going TSi fronts then go TSi center as well.  CS10/20 are very reasonably priced.

Also, check these options:

If you're going with TSi 200s and don't have stands yet, might as well consider the TSi 300.  Audition both and see which one sounds better.  Upgrade in price is less than the price for stands.  TSi 100 as surrounds might be best... parang ang laki ng 200 for surrounds eh.  Then again, you might consider upgrading to TSi 400 and use wharf dfs as surrounds para makatipid sa budget.

If you have the space I'm guessing the TSi 100 should be better considering they cost the same.  The TSi 100 is pretty good and am actually using them as fronts.

If you pass by Shang, SnS actually has the TSi 300 fronts with TSi 100 surrounds already set-up.  Iba lang gamit nila ng center (Wharfedale ata nakakabit) but I think you can request to set up the CS 10 or 20.  Noticed this when comparing subs the other day.  I think they also have an Onkyo amp to drive the speakers.

hi again blued, still deciding on the speakers since next week kasi might get the 663 nalang then kasi im thinking also na kung sulit ba mag wharf to polk since the price is medyo malayo na.. what you think sir?

This is based on personal experience:

I auditioned Wharfedales because they were the cheapest known-brand speakers that many people were using but alas, when I finally heard them at TheaterWorks... I was extremely disappointed.

I then shifted my sights towards Infinity which definitely pleased my ears. The latter brand is more expensive by 20k but that's what I went for since it gave me a much better listening experience.

Be sure to audition both before making a purchase because otherwise, you might just regret it right after you unbox them and connect them.

For your rears, audition both dipole/bipole and bookshelf configurations since you might like one better than the other. The dipole/bipole offers a more dispersed sound effect while the bookshelves cater to a directional sound.

I gues my experience is the same a blued888's.  I was looking for a more affordable set-up for my bedroom and planned on getting wharfedale 9.1 for fronts.  Went to audition it against the TSi 100 just to compare if there was a big difference.  With both units not  broken in, The clarity and detail of the TSi was just way better.  Medyo muffled for me yung 9.1.

For HT center channels, this would be even more important since you would want the dialogue to be as crystal clear as possible.  Aside from that, mahirap talaga to have your center having a different character to that of your 2 fronts.

Honestly, I also tried the TSi 100 against another much more expensive brand and still had the TSi 100 emerge as the winner.  Bang for buck talaga ito.

There is a pair of 300s and 100s on the marketplace if you're really gunning for them.  Withdrawn na nga lang ata yung 100.

Thanks for all your inputs so far.  Will welcome more suggestions.

Am considering the Dynaudio 42 and 42c at the moment.  My only worry is how they'll sound with a midlevel AVR.

Sir, just to add a little more to your confusion  ;D, I suggest you also consider the rti series of polk audio. I own a pair of Rti a7s for 2-channel audio listening and all I can say is that I am not yet thinking of any upgrades at the moment.  ;)

The Polk Audio TSi series is a best seller. I would suggest the following set up:

1) value setup
- TSi300 floorstanding
- CS10 center
-TSi100 bookshelf
- PSW110 - 10 inch sub
The whole set up is less then P52,000

2) higher end setup
- TSi400 floorstanding
- CS20 center
- TSi200 bookshelf
- PSW125 - 12 inch sub
The whole set up is less then P75,000

Polk Audio speakers are available in most reputable A/V shops.

Well for any home thearter system the center is the most important speaker, so its always better to get the best center that you can afford. However the CS10 will work just fine with the TSi300.

The first time I saw the CS10, I thought it was the CS20.  Laki na nga ng CS10.  The box of mine is bigger than the box of a pair of tsi 100s.

b&w 685 and htm 62. But, they would cost between PhP42K & 43K without the stands yet.

mga gurus

I'm planning to build a home theater. 5.1 lang ako... living room set up around 10 to 15 sq meter area.

questions:
1. anung speakers has the same price range as wharfdales?
2. sa size ng room, puede bang hindi na ako mag subwoofer? assuming na floor stander ang napili ko.

receiver ko would be Onkyo (1st choice), yamaha, and kung meron man, NAD or Rotel.  equipment to be attach: NMT, BD player, and a gaming equipment (pc or console game unit, doesn't matter)
