Need suggestion

Polk RTI A3 or Wharfe Diamond 10.2 matched with tube amp for pure audio.  Price difference is about 7k.

Thanks!

My suggestion is to try both. :) We all have our individual preferences.

Honestly though, the 10.2 with a warm tube amp may end up fairly dark-sounding. If you're getting a neutral sounding amp with enough power, this would work just fine. If you like weight on the instruments and some extra chest on vocals, then this might be the pair for you.

The A3 is easier to drive. This could equate to better amp life, a higher playing volume before distortion sets in, and less amp power needed to get the desired volume (even a smaller amp could power these speaks sufficiently). The brighter nature and bite can also compensate for the excessive warmth of certain gear.

I aleady listened to both, overall the RTI is the winner.  Diamond 10.2 is also good and the price different of 7k is really something to consider.

well accdg. to my friend based on his test, mas OK un tsi 300..  compared side by side to wharfe 10.5

I auditioned both, they connected it to a big Denon receiver i forgot which model number, stereo only and a CD playing on a Samsung bluray player...but I found the 10.5s much better. The 300s vocals sounded like it was meshing with all the other instruments, however, the 10.5s really ripped the net wide open and the vocals came alive.

But i don't really know the first thing about sonic fidelity *shrugs* or if it was a mismatch of parts or what.

1. Wharfedale 9.1 or 10.1
2. PSB Alpha B
3. Paradigm Atom V5

Have you listened to all of them? How did you like them? Have you tried them with the gear that you intend to use?

1. I would personally go with the 9.3 if your space allows it. Much cleaner impact and smoother low freq extension (not very bloated). The highs are also better defined, which may be due to the different passive components used and bigger waveguide. The 10.1 is a tad boomy for me.

2. The Alpha B1 is a nice and balanced speaker. I like it better than the 9.1/10.1, but remember that it doesn't play very low. There is also some hardness in the treble at higher volumes. The Image series is significantly better overall, and may be an option since the price is quite close to the Paradigm Atom.

3. The Atom is very detailed and images well. It can sound a bit forward and shallow with the wrong gear though. Of the three you mentioned, they probably have the most potential, but they are also the hardest to match.

You can also add the Polk RTi A1/A3 and the Mordaunt-Short Aviano 1/2 to your list, if you haven't ruled them out yet. The 2nd hand market can also be a place for good finds, if that is an option.

I suggest Atom V5/V6 cos they are easier to drive than Wharf & PSB. They are considered one of the best bang bookshelf speakers. Your ears will love Atom speakers like many said.

Hey guys, need your advice.

I'm planning rebuilding my HT (Gaming/Movies/Music). I used to have bose cubes but decided to let them go.
Room size is 14X14X10 (condo).

I currently have the following gears:

Yammy rxv-1800 & rxv-1500(i listed this b4 in the marketplace but unable to attend to it as I went overseas)

MA S2

I plan to buy either a hsu research vtf-2 mk3 or a B&W asw610 as my sub.

I need suggestion on center and fronts. Not sure if either a RX1 or a RS1 is a good match with my current pair of S2.

I'm willing to spend between 20-25k on fronts.

Thanks.

posted this in the Paradigm thread but maybe some people here have some inputs din :)

Hi everyone.

After a lot of consideration I think I'm going to go for this setup:

Existing equipment :
1. Denon 1609
2. Polk Audio 10" sub
3. Paradigm Atoms

Will get:
1. Paradigm Mini monitor
2. Paradigm cc-190

So the setup will be :

Fronts : Mini Monitor
Center : cc-190
Rears : Atoms

Some questions:
1. What do you think of this setup? I wanted to get Titans pero parang mas madaling idrive tong mini monitor considering 1609 lang yung avr ko.
2. For the rears anong magandang placement nito?
3. Saan maganda kumuha nitong new gears :D

You should leave a gap between the port and the wall. I think it's 8-12 inches minimum for floorstanders. I'm not so sure.

the sound will be muffled plus a tendency to blow out the speaker cones since  pressure will not be released properly
