i spent the afternoon yesterday listening to  tsi400, tsi300, wharfdales, rtia3. rtia7, b&w and us audio subs.they dont have on stock the rtia5. listening to a tsi300, tsi 400, rtia3 and rtia7 with a sub, i couldnt tell much difference between them. but without a sub, definitely the rtia7 and b&w sounded better. were my ears so "noob" that i couldnt tell much diff between them? so my question is with prices/budget factored in which one should i get?

1) tsi 400  - 27990
    us audio 512t - 10550
    total 38540

2) rtia5 - 39990
    us audio 512t - 10550
    total: 50540

3) rtia3 - 19990
    us audio 512t- 10550
   total: 30540

4) rtia7 - 49990
    us audio 512t - 10550
   total: 60540

*the rtia7 is offered on a 0% 1 year installment while the rest are on 6 mo. 0%

if i get the rtia3 may diff naman 8k to 30k which i can use for the surrounds or a better sub...what do you guys think?

Rti's more often than not will outperform the tsi's. between the a7 and a5, the 7's have better lows but the a5's better mids.  Just look at the two and you will immediately know why.  Between the a3 and a5, there wont be much difference, but used in a bigger room the a5 will be so much better than the a3, because size does matter.  Now since you will use a sub, my suggestion is go for either the 3's or the 5's, depending on your room size.

ako sir I started with the tsi set on 22sqm bedroom it worked fine when I tranferred rooms I also upgraded my gears, it was also my dilema between the a3, a5 and the a7 but I went for the a7.. Why? If I go for a3 I still need to get some decent stands konti nalang a5 na. If a5 naman I might miss out on lows if I listen to stereo mode and the type of music I listen to even if I'm using dual subs I just like 2 ch pag music eh

I'm planning to buy a Bose Cinemate GS II speakers for a no-brainer, superb sound setup with zero hassle on my part. But the question is "Is it worth it"?

I've sampled them at Best Buy and it certainly blew me and my wife away.

Any recommendations beside them at a cheaper price (or equal) would be appreciated.

audition other brands within the same or lower price range. ;)

@all

which of the following would you guys recommend as my HT's next upgrade?:

GoldenEar SuperCinema 3D Array (52k)
JBL ES10 bookshelf + JBL ES25C Center Channel (total ~24k)
SVS PB-1000 Subwoofer (26k)

my current setup consists of the following:

Display: LG 42LK450 (I plan to replace this with a 3D 1080P plasma eventually)
Receiver: Harman Kardon AVR 265
Front: JBL ES10

btw, I don't use the Whafedale SW150 with my HT. it's currently the subwoofer for my pc audio. ;)

for practicality, since you already have es10 for your fronts, get both the es10, es25c and svs. now you got 5.1 channel. compared to goldenear priced at 52k, you still have change of 2thou,take out your wife on a date for 2k. at least both of you will be happy...

wait till you hear and see other brands, you might not know who's beside you.... :D :D :D

seriously speaking, just try and audition other brands, don't focus yourself in one brand alone. sooner or later, when you got a chance to hear other set ups, thats the time that you'd feel sorry for yourself.

take time, roam around. see other distro's.  ;)

I think this is the most rational option (unless you have a big room).

Please post the specs of your speaker. If you can get an amp with at least 50w, it can drive your speaker properly.

I've just scanned a Japanese Pioneer brochure that may be of interest. Since your Japanese may be a little bit rusty, let me summarize a little of what I've gleaned from the brochure.

In addition to the SPEC line, Pioneer also marketed what they called the "Project" line, at least in Japan. "Project" included a "Project X" line of components very similar in appearance to the SPEC components: the rack-mount C-73, C-1800 (and later, the 1800II) and C-1500 (II) control amplifiers coupled with M-73, M-1800(II) and M-1500(II) power amps. There were also the rack-mount F-73 tuner and F-1500 tuners (apparently there was no F-1800 tuner).

In addition to the "Project X" components there were more traditional component systems:

1) Project 700 and Project 7 systems built around the SA-8800II amplifier,
2) Project 8 (no 800 version) built around the SA-6850 amplifier,
3) Project 700 and Project 7 built around the SA-6800II amplifier,
4) Project 6M built around the SA-6750 amplifier, and
5) Project 300 built around the SA-4400 amplifier.

The main difference between the system numbers seems mostly to do with the styling. The 900,700, and 300 speakers and cabinets are black, while the Project 9,8,7, and 6 are walnut(?) veneer. There are sometimes a few differences in the equipment as well.

Anyone like me who has been confused by some of Pioneer's speaker numbers in the CS series may find this brochure interesting as well. The speaker numbers match the component system:

1) CS-F99 speakers for Project X9,
2) CS-F77 speakers for Project X7,
3) CS-F900 speakers for Project 900,
4) CS-F9 speakers for Project 9,
5) CS-F8 speakers for Project 800
6) CS-F700 speakers for Project 700
7) CS-F7 speakers for Project 7
8) CS-F6 speakers for Project 6
9) CS-F300 speakers for Project 300

If you are asking if your ampli can properly drive those speakers, then you'd have to answer that with how many watts per channel can the amp output? If it can do 60 and above wpc and your pioneers have high sensitivity then it shouldnt be a problem.

in my experience regarding vintage speakers(jbl 4311 and cerwin vega L7) , they have less power requirements even when they have those humungous woofers. so driving them won't be that hard. i used to drive them with an avr and it does so very well.

guys, I also plan to do a budget 2.0 tube setup for our dining room tv. I plan to get a Sakura AV200T tube amp + a bookshelf speaker. would a Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 be a good match for the Sakura? Diamond 9.0 sana balak ko, pero 15-75W lang ang power handling nito. the 200W Sakura might fry it! hehe!
