My speaker upgrade choice boils down to Xavian XN 250 and Sonus Faber Minuetto (pre-owned).
I found out that ribbon tweeters are a bit bright for my audio taste(but I love them on HT).

Now which one would you guys recommend? ;D

I love them both pero cyempre isa lang ang kayang makuha...
Napapakanta tuloy ako ng......."Sana dalawa ang puso ko" ;D

mag xavian 270 ka na sir louie. :)  or you myt want to consider the liuto, i think, 150k net more or less including the stands. or harbeth c7es3 for 150k. i think no one will go wrong with these choices.

Naku 170K yan sis...

Mga masters/gurus,

Please help me decide for my speaker fronts because im planning to upgrade my BS(Monitor Audio BR2) into floorstander. I'm torn between the PSB Image T6 and/or POLK RTiA7. Currently my AVR is ONKYO 515.

My preference is 50% audio & 50% video, although i know everybody here will suggest to have a separates (audio) and also audition the speakers, just my personal pref. lang po sana of which between the 2 (speaker) can still satisfy my needs.

Any suggestions/recommendations will be very much appreciated mga sirs.

You want to upgrade to a FS because you moved to a bigger room?

Your avr is rated at 130wpc @ 6 ohms, 1khz @ 1 channel driven...i think thats a little weak to drive the a7 who at 89db sensitivity isnt the most efficient speaker out there.  Same goes for the T6.  Medyo mas bagay po ata BS sa inyo or a smaller FS...like a tsi 300 if you really want polk or the alpha t1 if you insist on PSB.

Hello Sir, based from those 2 choices, the psb t6 should be easier to drive. based on ht lab measures, it's rated at 91db. actually my old onkyo 608 which is a minor step up in power against the 515 powers it very well.

Sir, sorry for my ignorance in terms of khz or db sa mga electronics, but you mean ok naman po sa AVR ko ang T6 for my audio & HT use? I bought my whole 5.1 system with HK as my AVR pa kay Sonny Tuazon (RIP) pa kasi last 2003 then si sonny din ang nag-set up. Wala talaga ako alam sa mga terminologies and speaker matching since mawala si sonny.  Ngayon lang sana ako mag-uupgrade.

Try nyo po dalhin yung avr nyo sa mga dealers like sa watt hifi in Makati Cinema Square. Meron silang demo unit ng PSB T6 doon para matry nyo performance nya with the Onkyo 515

sensya sir di ko naexplain ng maayos :) the sensitivity of the t6 is 91db, the higher the sensitivity the easier it is to drive. so kaya naman nyang onkyo 515 mo to drive the psb. to test if pasok sa taste niyo yung pairing, you can bring your onkyo avr to what hifi in makati cinema square to test it with psb. you can also pm otep_32 to ask if he has any entry level avrs to test it with para hindi niyo na kelangan buhatin yung onkyo.

Hello to the masters, this isn't a brand specific request, more of a size recommendation... I'm trying to find the smallest full range bookshelf (passive, of course) that is currently available... here's why, I'm trying to set up a "hybrid system" that consists of the afforementioned bookshelves, a T-amp which runs on batteries (dayton dta-1), and a powered sub...

The reason for this is I want to be able to "detach" the satellites, when going on out-of-town trips, hence the battery powered amp, and use the full setup when at home...

The smallest pair I know of are the Audioengine A2s, but they are active... I found some mirage (http://www.miragespeakers.com/bookshelf-speakers/?sku=NANOSAT-BS) satellites, part of a 5.1 setup but are sold individually on Amazon, but they only go to 110Hz... If you guys have better alternatives, please do let me know!

I have a few questions. Haven't had the chance to audition any components but would like to gather feedback.  Can the Monitor Audio BX2 be paired with the ff: ?

1. Hifi use
Marantz PM6004 (amp) and Marantz CD6004 (cd player)?

2. Hometheater use
Yamaha RX V series or Onkyo NR series?

If ever i push through with a certain setup, I would like it that i would only use the same speakers for HiFi and Home theater components.

Appreciate your help kind sirs.

hi guys! count me in as well as a newbie in home theater setups. due to limited space at my home, I'm considering a 2.1 home theater setup for music and video (blu-ray) what 2.1 home theater system can you recommend that's budget-friendly but good sound quality?

thanks!

Honestly sir, mahirap humanap ng midlevel speakers na babagay sa AV Receiver mo. Kailangan nyan speakers that present a benign electrical load to sound good.
