Hi guys, can you recommend a good 5.1 satellite/sub for a small room and will be used 50/50 music/movie. Im eyeing the B&W MT60D and already asked around here for its price. MT60D is still within my budget but maybe you can give me a suggestion to stretch my option. Thanks in advance.

Hello. Need recommendation for low budget 2.1 setup please. Budget is around P15,000 max, including the amp, speakers and sub.

Initially i'm looking at the setup below. Please feel free to provide your much appreciated inputs.

A-Audio Genesis Floorstanders
T-Amp connected to Fiio Taishan DAC connected to my Samsung Plasma optical out
Sub - No idea on this. Mirage Omni S8?

Thanks!

Also, I might be limited to 2.1 only since I dont have enough space. No need to consider upgrade to 5.1.

I don't think your budget is enough to include a sub unless you'd consider a US Audio sub or 2nd hand. but your budget would fit a T-amp (Sakura AV200T) and A-Audio Genesis bookshelf speakers.

To add on those excellent suggestions, I like the Monitor Audio RX2 + NAD C326. Sakto din on your budget. It's laid back, warm sounding with great bass weight.

what's better sounding, the B&W DM303 speakers or the Bose Acoustimass speakers?

OHH man, no offense but even to attached the word  BOSE to the sentence w/ the presence of B&W, BOSE has no rights. its like Bugatti being compared to Hyundai.

Nothing really wrong with bose... Unless you are comparing a small one against a bigger speaker.

;D my bad d ko nkita date. yup, nothings wrong with it, we have different sounding taste the only thing is bose is not my cup of tea. the price didn't coincide the performance. lifestyle 135 almost $4000 online  maybe $5000 on hifi stores. performance wise marami ka makuha na mas maganda by far on that budget and i'm sure you'll agree with me. for me bose is a rip off. that's only my opinion.

pricewise I can probably agree with you, unfortunately there are many reasons why prices differ... Maraming choices... But some bose models could put other speaker to shame too sq wise...

I agree with you not all bose are bad. presyo lng kc problema ng bose, there are some models of bose that could easily beat other good brand of speakers in terms of sounding performance but I can assure you the price of that bose is a sky high. the only thing I don't understand  is "the price", and subject of this thread is speaker recommendation, so for me, why not give the guy a true info. I don't mean to offend those bose owners, me myself got bose pc speaker   ;D. even here where I am now, hifi stores don't sell bose you can see them in department stores, I have ask the agents before they said straight  to my face that they are crap for the price. as they said as soon as customers started to auditioned decent brand of speakers the bose is no where to find in their mouth, which is true, before I bought my home theatre most forum sites didn't recommend the bose as they said too pricey.

Thats the power of perception and expectation. Bose is considered a luxury brand by mainstream consumers. Para bang high-end Krell speakers or Magico ang ''dating'' para sa ating audio enthusiasts. However, the sound quality is massively subjective and extremely debatable ang mga opinion.

There's a reason why I dont listen to Whathifi reviews anymore. I personally consider their reviewers kind of "audiophool-ish", and flat-earth oriented. But it doesnt mean they are wrong. Same goes with the opinion of people in the forums and audio groups. You just have to find the same people with the same feather as yours.

not listening to reviews, no argue with that. I'm just trying to contribute on what I believed. besides that's the reason of this site, sharing info so we can get the best. sayang din kc pera natin pag mag sisi tyo sa banding huli. besides yung guy na nag ask ng info sya prin masusunod pera nya yun, all he has to do is audition whats best suited to him and i'm sure yun ang kunin nya. if he prefers bose than b&w then that's it, system nya yun e.

My first setup is Bose and wasn't bad at all especially in HT application I have Bose 301 V main, bose VCS 30 center n surround using onkyo receiver in my living room, the 301 is good for party music. But sad to tell its way behind compared to old B&W 601 s3 and LCR60 in my bedroom setup. IMHO
