Did you notice if the 137 min sound glitch (DD5.1/DTS/both) is there? This really rattled me out.

To be honest, I didn't notice the glitch, but will try watch again later.. gusto ko rin mkita (or marinig) yung glitch eh. Though meron ng nkapag confirm na the sound glitch really does exist..

I watched this to check if there was indeed a sound glitch during the 137th minute part of the movie but I didn't notice any on both the dts and DD tracks.. I played that part again and again but didn't notice any..

The two disc set is amazing! Great looking, high quality slipcase; good quality discs.

Good work, Magnavision. Here's hoping this release helps people realize that it can be rather unfair to condemn an upcoming release sight unseen, based purely on the previous track record of a company.

Thanks for the response. I was finally convinced and got my copy today.

I'm in partial agreement to that. Magnavision's Sony (non-budget) and Paramount (newer ones) releases are in my opinion, good quality DVD's. It is their releases of Universal and Dreamworks movies that I am wary of. But lately, these have been improving as well.

No regrets for me. The company committed an oversight----to equip consumers with an educated purchase.

Now that's a question I would like answered...  since DVD9 siya, it could have the same PQ as imported disc if Magnavision wants to...

Anyone popped their one-disc Casino Royale into their PC?  Is the full 8.5 capacity of a DVD9 utilized by the locally manufactured DVD9?

I just have a question..Cant magna have like an imported copy in advance on preorder to show people what they will be getting. Sorry im new in this dvd thing, but what happened at king kong..Did we get   the same copy as the entire region 3 (asia?)? If this is the same for whole region 3 I dont think its the fault of magna, However if we got is the so called "Philippines copy only or version" then I think magna should not accept it, anyway just my opinion. I dont really know how magna import, locally produce, package, distribute etc. so I cant judge them.

Can someone fill in some info for me thanks.. Also what is the difference between region 1 and region 3, is it just the packaging..Im really after PQ, Is there a difference in PQ between region 1 and 3 thanks.

From what I know, in the case of King Kong, the discs were imported, but the packaging was local. In the case of Casino Royale 2-Disc, the entire product is imported, hence the customs delay that happened.

Can someone fill in some info for me thanks.. Also what is the difference between region 1 and region 3, is it just the packaging..Im really after PQ, Is there a difference in PQ between region 1 and 3 thanks.

If it's PQ you're looking at, for the full import products, they're usually mastered from the same source, so no difference should be appreciable. In the case of Casino Royale, the R3 also has the advantage of having a DTS track, which will not be not present on the R1. I'm not sure if the R1 will have a glossy metallic embossed slipcase like the R3 does, either.

Even if you didn't avail of the pre-order promo and didn't get a free disc, the two-disc R3 is still a good buy at 895, since I doubt you'll be able to find the R1 at the same price locally, and both versions have the same special features, anyway.

I just watched the 2-disc edition. What can I say, superb PQ & AQ! Although I was able to confirm the presence of the much-talked about 137th minute (2:17) sound glitch in the DTS track, except it occurs at around the 135th minute (2:15:02) in my player. It's in the scene where Bond was emerging from the water after freeing Vesper from the elevator. The glitch is shorter than the reported half second. Maybe just a quarter of a second. Fortunately, the DD5.1 track doesn't have the said glitch.

I'm satisfied with this release. however, they should have used an amaray case as the label is not doublesided. After watching the film, i really convinced that it was Daniel Craig's performance in Layer Cake that made the producers convinced that he should be the next James Bond.

Finally got the Casino Royale 2-disc set. Una kong pinasok sa DVD player ang Special features DVD, with the video "You Know My Name". One of the best Bond songs (imho) since "A View To A Kill". Ewan ko, but I preferred to watch the Featurette "Bond Girls are Forever" more than the other featurettes in the DVD. The earliest of the Bond girls (or "women" as some of them prefer to call themselves) are still alluring in their prime. I'm surprised that Maryam d'Abo (The Living Daylights) did'nt get to interview Teri Hatcher (Tomorrow Never Dies and Desperate Housewives-obviously not a Bond film) in the featurette.  ::)

Anyways, great DVD!!! I got the real deal in this release because the DVD features posted in Yahoo!Movies are the same as my purchased copy (But correct me if I'm wrong) Yun nga lang, as of this posting, the release date posted on Yahoo!Movies is March 13, 2007. Heeheehee!!! ;D ;D ;D
