I think it's better to ship all your items in one order to minimize the volume weight & handling fee. Yes, if you have more than 1 order, you can ask JAC to wait for them all & send it one time to Phil but then again you have to take the volume weight into consideration.

Right on Paul, but just to share as well - one time, I tried calling up jac in advance to consolidate my order but again, that's heavily dependent on the delivery times of the merchants you ordered from.  I once ordered LP's from Amazon but of course it came from various merchants so even if I placed the orders at the same time @ Amazon, each merchant confirmed separately; thus different leadtimes and ETAs in JAC NY.

Bottomline is if it arrives within the same week, mapapaki-usapan sina Aura. BUT if it falls on separate weeks, that's where you'll be charge separate handling costs (plus the downside that you weren't able to maximize your package weight).  In my case around three LPs arrived in a certain week and the balance six LPs the following week.  Was rightfully charged separate handling (well rather than getting charged for each independent delivery by each merchant) - naka-tipid na rin.  ;)

Anyway it's still worth to request and relay in advance.  Team JAC is very helpful in these types of situations.
Hope this helps!  ;)

Will probably drop by their office this week to apply so I can try it out.

So please correct me if I'm wrong.  If I were to order, it's better to order blu-rays (on-stock titles) in multiples of 3 (since 3 blurays = 1 pound)?  So kung 4 blu-rays, most likely $12 na ang charge (since more than 1 pound)?

To register for JAC service is very convenient that, you can in fact apply tru email/fax without visiting their office.  ;)

Amazon's packaging is inconsistent. Sometimes they use small boxes & other times they use bigger boxes. :-\ So far I had tried 4-5 BDs still within the 2 lbs limit provided they don't use the bigger boxes. ;D

not necessarily if some are 2-discs.

I read somewhere from the earlier pages that you can request email/fax application but you would still have to go to their office to submit it.  Pwede na ba application thru email lang?
Can I request for their email.  Kasi I remember using the email address posted on the earlier pages ([email protected]) a few months back but I got no reply.  Thanks again.  I hope to start collecting BD's as soon as possible :)

I overlook stickfighter's previous post. It's very informative. I repost here: :)

Hi Guys! ;D I finally went to Megamall to register with JAC. ;D After a week, I received an email confirmation of my registration from Aura. Please see her email below:

thanks for the inputs iiinas and pchin.  I've ordered dvds from amazon in the past, but I have them shipped to my house by standard mail.  More or less I'm still familiar with their system.  But it's been a while since I last ordered from them, and I hate the fact that sometimes the package gets taxed at the post office, that's why I want to try JAC.  Will probably drop by their office this week to apply so I can try it out.  Actually medyo matagal din ako nawala sa HT scene, but now I've revived this hobby.  So please correct me if I'm wrong.  If I were to order, it's better to order blu-rays (on-stock titles) in multiples of 3 (since 3 blurays = 1 pound)?  So kung 4 blu-rays, most likely $12 na ang charge (since more than 1 pound)?

yes, in excess there of. kaya mag 5 to 6 bds ka nalang para sure na 2pounds sya.

I don't know if this has been posted yet. But today I was driving down buendia and I saw a 2 story building with a huge Johnny air sign. It is very nice :) It is BIG..There is also a mercury drug there. I think that is their new branch, very nice interior. Its on buendia and dian I think. The prob is parang there is no parking there. This is closer for me compared to makati ;D However, Im very comfortable already with the makati people (bonding na :D). I might cry pa  :'( or feel sad if I move to another branch haha..I'm quite sure its jac bec of the logo. If its not sorry for the mistake.

Rather than saying that "you don't pay taxes or duties if you use JAC," I would prefer to say that "the fee paid to JAC covers shipping, taxes and duties." There's a big difference.

Hi,
I signed up sa JAC megamall branch and told them I was from PinoyDVD. I got the $6/lb rate, but for the several shipments I had with them, they charged me the minimum of 2 lbs (even if it was really just 1 lb)  plus $5 handling fee for each package (Even if they arrived the same week sa NY). How did you guys get them to waive the minimum weight?

Thanks

The minimum charge is really 2lbs. To be on the safe side try to combine all your items & ship out under one package. :)

Hi po!

How can i enroll sa JAC. TIA! :)

You will have to go to Megamall or their office in Makati. They will give you a form to fill up. You will have to provide them a xerox copy of your ID and don't forget to inform them that your from Pdvd. ;)

Hi,
I signed up sa JAC megamall branch and told them I was from PinoyDVD. I got the $6/lb rate, but for the several shipments I had with them, they charged me the minimum of 2 lbs (even if it was really just 1 lb)  plus $5 handling fee for each package (Even if they arrived the same week sa NY). How did you guys get them to waive the minimum weight?

Thanks

you should tell them, and sometimes they do by volume on the weight computation. and if its anything in excess of 1 lb. they will charge 2lbs already. but you should tell them and will reconsider. the guys who handle releasing will not know what to do, call or text the guys who handled your enrollement. in my case it was jayr or sometimes it was leiden.  ;D
