Just bought my s81 @ ansons the other week, got it for 59K with free htib ska ung 512mb mp3 player nila has 2500 discount so I grabbed it and paid P480 ata.  Supposedly I would buy from western megamall kasi nga sa feedback d2 s pdvd customer friendly naman sila and they give in to price and freebie haggling, so ginaya ko lang naman ung mga tip na nababasa ko d2  I tried abenson st. francis square first, tinawaran ko ng 55K, binigay skin ng 54K 18 mos 0%, so inisip ko to stretch my haggling skills more so hiningi kong free ung htib, ayaw na pumayag nung supervisor, 59K nlng daw with free htib, kaya umalis muna ako pa-importante kasi pareho lang naman eh, parang binayaran ko rin.

So I went to western megamall hoping na makuha ko ung deal na gusto ko na free ung htib, o kaya kahit 59K nlng pero free htib since sila naman ung first choice kong bilhan..I don't know about you guys pero siguro kc mukha akong bata na walang pambili o mukha siguro akong purdoy kaya sinopla kami ng friend ko ng mga samsung personnnel dun. We asked for the price the night earlier, sinopla rin kami nung isang salesman dun. Eh wala pa naman akong pambili so hinayaan ko lang. Pero nung day na bibili ako and I was trying on haggling with the price and freebies, tinawanan niya ako na hindi puwede tumawad sa lcd sabay talikod. We were there na parang nagmamakaawa sa kanya na kausapin kami kasi puro likod nya ang pinapakita nya samin. Sabi ko, it was offered to me by abenson for 55K , can u make a better offer kasi bibili na talaga ako.. Tinawanan pa niya ako then told me na ' Eh di duon ka na lang bumili mas mura pala dun eh', and this is a different salesman from the night b4. Well, I am a customer, I should not be treated that way, ano ba kailangan para respetuhin ka ng salesman? Kailangan ba naka- coat and tie pa? Bad luck for him, coz I have my friend na nag-init ang ulo nung sinabihan ako nun, so she asked the salesman kung 'sa kanya ba ung lcd? bat ang yabang niya? meron ba sya sa bahay nila nun para tratuhin kami ng ganun? ' and asked for the manager, my friend was literally frantic after the scene talagang galit na galit cya dun s salesman, supladita pa naman un and she's not the kind you would go into a word fight with..buti nga dun sa mamang un!

Grabe! I've been reading a lot of good feedback from western, but this is not what i expected..tsk tsk..Cguro ndi ako mukhang executive like you guys, pero kahit n mukha akong mangingisda or naka-sando pa ko, the fact that I'm asking about the price I'm a potential buyer and should not be treated like a pulubing nanggugulo lang s sm noh. hehehe.

So for other pdvd members, who are thinking on buying lcds from western.. be warned.. dapat naka-barong bago bumili..heheheh

Try the salesman of samsung in western behind shopsville, its the street where chilis is. To me ok siya and good prices at western. Anyway congrats on your new tv

Sa mga napuntahan ko last week, Western and Ansons lang ang may magandang offer for HDTVs.

But you can try Saver's Hub (North Edsa) and Ambassador (GreenHills) too.

keema, with your budget, you can get the LA32S81... its priced at 59K but with haggling, you can drive it down to about 55K...

As long as you have the cash ready, you can haggle the price down... medyo mahihirapan ka if you intend to pay in installment via credit card....

2) the HDMI jacks at the back are somewhat loose.  They move when I tried to plug/unplug the hdmi.  I went back to the dealer and noticed that their display unit is also like that.  I was told by the salesman that they also noticed it on their display unit. Can other R81 owners confirm if they have the same problem.

R81 or S81 owners, aside from the above mentioned HDMI problem, anybody here noticed if your unit has somewhat loose part inside when turned upside down or even when moved from face down to normal position? 

I initially noticed this when I first opened the box and carried the unit face down and carried/twisted to normal position.  But no problem in PQ.
I had it checked last friday and the technician told me that it is normal, but couldn't specifically pinpoint which part is causing the sound like loose part.
I'm still waiting though for their service center's feedback.

Since the 32R81 is 720p/1080i ready, what happens if i use a dvd player that upscales to 1080p?
I'm planning on getting a Pioneer DV-600AV-S to go with the 32R81.

I'm not really sure, but if i'm not mistaken, it would probably go down to 1080i, which is just about the same quality as 720p, but with motion trailing... according to one of the articles I've read...

I'm planning on getting a Pioneer DV-600AV-S to go with the 32R81.

No video will appear if you feed a 720p/1080i ready 1366x768 display with 1080p resolution. Screen will be blank or a message "input not supported" will appear.

balita ko from abenson kanina is maglalabas na daw ng bago samsung, M81 series daw, pero sa 32 daw, parang di nila ilalabas ang M series kasi mahal daw lalabas. Hinihintay lang daw nila maglabas ang Sony, kasi malapit na daw ilabas ni Sony yung bago nila. 

the M81 series is already available pero so far only the 46" model is being sold with an srp of 264,900

maybe the 40" will be too expensive like the previous LA40F71 kaya 46" lang muna ang nilabas nila. the M81 series counterpart in the US/UK does have a 32" model with a 100Hz panel but not full HD. kung ito yung ilalabas nila that might be something worth waiting for... but i'm sure the 100Hz panel will cost more.

as for me... i got tired of the waiting game and bought a LA40M81 from Indonesia
