Toshiba Regza
« on: Apr 14, 2007 at 02:36 PM »
There are Sony, Samsung, etc threeads but no Toshiba Regza LCD threads. So here it is and I am eyeing either the Toshiba Regza 32A3000E (32-inch LCD) or Toshiba Regza 32WL68E (32-inch LCD).

Anyone have an idea on availability/price of the said units?

do we have the newer model already? did some research but the WL66 is not on the US site at all..even on phased out models.

we dont have a philippine product site but the malaysia product site shows that the WL66 is current.

Regza 32WL68E = 139.9K, based on the promo brochure of Western Festival mall.

37" = 169.9K
42" = 209.9K
47" = 299.9K

Had tried the 42" at Anson's. Maganda, kahit malapitan di pixelated kahit SD source lang. 195K sa Anson's ATC.

@Munskie:
For the record, 95k cash for the 37" FULL HD? That's uber cheap!

Can somebody confirm if this is true? because looking at it' specs, it's only 1080p ready, so basically, it's not a FULL HD.

Hmm.. hard to decide on that situation ah.

Do you have any idea how much is the a3000e and 68e and are they available in 37"?

i saw your PC setup at TPC and was just wondering why are you changing monitors again, maganda na kase tignan with that v200 you have.

or habol mo yung screen resolution ng mga 1080p TVs? ako din, i'm considering a 32" 1080p Sharp TV pero hindi ko lang alam kung kelan nila ilalabas dito sa pinas yun, baka kase di na ako makapaghintay eh..

Meron Toshiba na 37" nagpunta ako sa Savers kahapon ang SRP nila was 169,900.00 pero since I was interested dun sa 42" model ang binigay nila sa akin price was 140,000 pag cash na ang SRP for that TV was 209,000.00

Sa mga nababasa ko ito daw 68e series ng toshiba is already 1080p and it's future proof na daw.

@duhmask:

Thanks for the complement and yes, im after the full HD (1080p) since I am using the tv as a primary monitor, but for now, getting a bigger one is a priority. If the 40" could only fit my table, ill be going for that one to end this itch of mine. hehe..

@one4u2nb:

Talaga? Sana nga 1080p na talaga coz for a 37" it's a bit expensive already - but looking at it's specs in cnet asia, it's only 1080p ready. :c

The only way to know for sure is to count the pixels on the panel itself.

But since this is impractical, all you have to do is read the specs published by the manufacturer.

Tingin ka lang sa brochure nila o sa internet, malalaman mo na.  Pag sinabing 1920 x 1080, e di full HD na 'yon.  Wala pa naman akong nabalitaan na manufacturer na nagsinungaling sa specs niya.  ;)

According to the Regza's brochure, only the 47 incher is 1920 x 1080; all the other sizes are 1366 x 768.

i think what it meant about 1080p future proof on the 42w68e (even though it's native res is only up to 720p) is that it will still work when fed with 1080p signal. unlike other 720p native resolution panels that will shut or won't show any pic at all.

Yup I agree. The 68LE models are just 1080p ready but still the PQ is amazing comparing it to the 66LE.. the only con(s) is it's uber expensive.

Ok lang ba ang 1200:1 or 1000:1 contrast ratio nung Toshiba? Isn't it too low compared to other brands like Samsung?

hey its you again! hahaha parang pareho tayo seriously looking at the regzas :p

samsungs ratings are dynamic contrast ratio as others are not. mejo jacked up ang figures nila. just audition it to see for yourself.

from what i know the new LGs are the best on paper in terms of "dynamic contrast". they have higher paper figures than the samsungs as i read in a cnet article. looks like this is korean marketing to me :p
