I asked na (Tower Records Glorietta) if they're gonna release a double disc edition. No daw.  :(
Although when I asked Astro Glorietta, it's possible daw.
By the way, as of tonight, Astro Glorietta is the only video store in that side of Ayala that still doesn't have stocks of this. Even Landmark already has stocks.

Highly unlikely for Fox/Viva to release a 2-disc version of 'Nights...'   Only high profile titles like 'POTC' get two-disc local edition.  Still waiting for Viva to release Borat, Peter Pan, Little Miss Sunshine (hopeless na yata ito).

Na-release na ba ito (locally) before?  The serpent and the rainbow  Our local Astro was pitching it as a new release eventhough it been out for four years in R1.  Budget edition - 475

Hey, Night At The Museum IS a high-profile title. So far, it has earned $248 M in the States alone. That's more than The Day After Tomorrow, LXG, Alien Vs. Predator and I, Robot , examples of Fox-Viva releases that were released as double-disc editions here.

You are right.  It IS a high profile title.  I erred.    I hate the movie kasi, so for me it is minor title, but those who shelled out $248 millions think otherwise... so maybe I am in the minority...

Guys, I just bought this.

The Listed Special Features on the back cover of the DVD are WRONG. Kulang. Despite their not being listed, this release also contains all the deleted/extended scenes of the R1 2-disc special edition.

So comparing the contents of the R1 and R3 Single Disc Editions:

A. R1 Single Disc:

1. Feature Film

2. Audio Commentary

B. R3  Single Disc:

1. Feature Film

2. Audio Commentary

3. Alternate Opening Scene

4. Deleted and Extended Scenes with commentary

5. Blooper Reel

6. Monkey Business Featurette

7. Rexy's Bone Jumble Game; and of course...

8. Tagalog subtitles
  ;D

So it really seems unlikely that a two-disc version will be released locally, since our single disc version is already a hybrid of the single/double disc versions released on R1 and R2.

=====

I have a little problem with the lenticular cover, though. The lenticular panel isn't attached to the keepcase, and it's too large to be inserted in the sleeve. So your options would be either:

a. Glue/tape it to the front surface of the keepcase

b. Keep it loose, separate from your DVD

c. Trim it slightly to fit inside the sleeve of the keepcase

d. Give it to the kids to play with, and forget that the DVD ever had a lenticular panel to begin with

Here's a picture of this R3 release:

I don't plan to get this one...but seeing the lenticular cover, I might.

Dalawang kulay ba ang Lenticular cover?  I'd seen one that matches the inside dvd cover (brown), but when binalikan ko panay blue na lang.  Or is it the lenticular effect?  I was in a hurry that I didn't examine it much...

Mr. Hankey, the Lenticular is removable from the sleevecase?  So it's like a mouse pad?

I would probably keep it in a plastic sleeve together with the keepcase.

The case is balik-amaray clone?  Or the new plastic cases that ship with Eragon/The Marine/etc...

Lenticular effect. It's the brown cover when you view it at a different angle.

Yes, it is.

Yeah, one of those black good quality cases, not like the ugly clear cases they used for The Devil Wears Prada/Eragon. There's still a typo on the back cover, but I only noticed one this time: "Larry finds himdelf fact-to-face with a frisky T. Rex skeleton..."  ::)

good buy na rin sya IMO

I agree. The only "Special Features" I personally care about are deleted scenes, bloopers and commentaries, anyway... so I really have no need for all the Making-Of/Behind-the-Scenes documentaries included in the R1 2-Disc Special Edition version.

The amaray they should have used should have been the clear one...

If you tried to remove the cover, it has a print on the inside too ::)

Hey, you're right!

Funny part is - I actually removed the cover this afternoon when I superglued the lenticular panel onto the case, and I didn't even notice.

Just clarifying: are these features missing from the R3 release:

- Bringing the Museum to Life Featurette
- Acting with Nothing Featurette
- Building the Museum
- Historical Threads
- Storyboard Comparisons
- Making of Featurette
- Theatrical Trailers

Yeah, it would look fantastic on a good quality clear case, but those new ones Viva has been using recently are really ugly.

Too late for me, though. I already glued my lenticular onto the included black case.

It seems the lenticular panel was limited to the initial release of this title. I saw new deliveries of this today, and it was no longer included.

So if you're thinking of buying this title and you actually want the lenticular cover, then it might be pertinent to get it already while the initial supplies are still available.
