The remote extender consist of 2 battery transmitters with 1 AA & 1 AAA sleeve and the receiver with built-in charger.  This work simply by installing 1 battery transmitter sa remote control.  Then just install the remote reciever near your equipment & plug(110v) it in, may kasama din pala siyang 1 wired IR emitter in case you need it. Basta yun remote control mo AA or AAA ang gamit na battery, I think it will work.  No line of sight needed kahit na nasa ibang room ka pwede.  :)

:DThanks...wow this could be it nga...time to ask favor again sa kamag anaks sa stets.. ;D..

The battery is rechargeable, yun remote receiver doubles as a battery charger. Bale 1 remote lang pwede gamitin kasi you need the AAA sleeve para sa AA.  I suggest sa universal remote control mo siya gamitin or buy extra battery.

Medyo ok na pero kelangan pa konting ligpit. Dami pa nakakalat na boxes and di ko pa naaayos yung mga cables sa likod ng A/V Rack. Pero operational na. Hehehehe... Way better than the living room. Meron talagang wow effect.

DIY picture calibration, squeezing more out from my AE900 projector... My first attempt(note:limited understanding only ;D). not yet perfect but enjoyed doing it.

Luminance(still way off)

RGB levels & delta E curve(not bad at all, 9 delta E<4)

CIE diagram(most are within the blue area delta E=10)

Gamma(way way off at 1.91 average gamma, target is 2.2)

Color temperature

What I use:

Sample screenshots after calibration(improved black levels, contrast & color but there's still more room for improvement)

*concert blurays are not the best to test before & after calibration but there is still noticeable improvement, besides the disc is already in the ps3 & so tired to change it.(it's 1am anyway) ;D

Very nice! How many hours and how many attempts did it take before you got an acceptable result?

I have an EyeOnePro. I had to study maybe 4 to 6 hours and I got a good result only after my 3rd calibration attempt.

Wow, just saw this thread - astig ng set-up mo sir!  Just love the evol from the proj HT to the gaming set-up to the calibration project - galing congrats sir.  On the calibration, I love your RGB convergence graph - took me many hours to tweak mine (using Spyder2) but never got as close to your graph - Cheers!

Keep it up buddy!  ;)

I did 2 attempts in 6 hours(2 hours of that is setting up, warming up the projector while studying the steps).
I choose my 1st calibration results, better RGB levels & delta E.  I tried experimenting on my 2nd attempt to get a better gamma average & luminance but it screwed my RGB levels & delta E(everything is related) & didn't do much to improve the gamma average.  It's like doing a balancing act.
Although the picture is better than before the calibration.  I wonder how much better it will be if I got a 2.2 gamma average or atleast close to it.  How did you adjust your gamma settings & luminance? need your expert advice streetsmart... ;D

Thanks Marl_5 for browsing through my HT  :)  really enjoyed doing it on my part.
I was considering buying the spyder2 before but after reading about it from various forums, may inconsistency daw kasi yun spyder2.  The next better option na within my budget is the eye one display LT.  So far works great, even calibrated my old CRT PC monitor.

Saw your set up, hi-end lahat! Great photography work too.  8) Congrats!

Hehe. Di naman ako expert! Si Alvin Ong and John from AV Driver are the real experts!

Insofar as gamma is concerned, my gamma is really screwed up and I'm still experimenting. I think that you can increase gamma if you lower the green levels and vice-versa. Also, it would help a lot if your pj has gamma controls.

Iba-iba talaga ang mga pj. In my case kasi, the luminance level is very low so I need to do a tweak on the iris setting in the service menu. That brings up the overall luminance but it seems to lower the gamma significantly as well. Kaya nga tama ka, its a balancing act.

The AE900 have 3 adjustments for gamma(high, mid, low) I've tried boosting & cutting each gammas, visually minor lang ang effect sa picture.  Will try experimenting again soon, enjoy ko muna current settings.  Even mga sd dvds looks better with the calibrated settings.  :)

Next project muna, acoustic panels. ;D

Have you tried entering the Service Menu? These are the codes I got through AVS Forum for the AE900. Ingat lang if you enter the Service Menu!

Press the {MENU} button.

  Go to "Options" menu.
  Highlight "OSD".
Then press and hold the {ENTER} button,
until the Service Menu is displayed.

Press the {MENU} button to exit.

==================================================

  Turn the Projector on.
  Press the {POWER} button.
A "Power Off" confirmation will come up on screen.
  Then press {LEFT} {UP} {DOWN} {UP} {DOWN}
  & {ENTER} buttons.

The Service Menu will be displayed.
To exit, turn the Projector Off.

Wow thanks streetsmart for the codes! :) Haven't tried entering the service menu yet, not familiar on what settings to adjust in there.  Review muna before I enter it.  Like you said, ingat lang while in service menu.

DIY Acoustic panels using rigid fiberglass (703 spec)

Verdict: smoother bass, better front & surround imaging. :)

P.S. maybe will add more mid/hi frequency absorbers (ceiling & front screen area) & more bass traps at the back.  ;D

The panels look cool. Don't you agree that it's like a huge upgrade ng speakers mo? But at a fraction of the cost.  :)

Congrats!  :)

Yes, I'm happy I did. Never thought I can squeeze more out of my old B&W speakers & yamaha receiver.  :)

With the calibrated greyscale & acoustic panels, just watch Kingdom of Heaven bluray last night.  I was really amaze with the PQ & AQ.  I was smiling the whole 194min movie.  ;D
