Hello emer! hdi ko na nalista kung magkano nagastos ko. ;D Sariling design lang kasi, tingin tingin lang sa mga pics ng HT sa net, yun ceiling lang pinadesign ko sa engineer. Be patient lang, will post pics soon with the DTS & DD lights i got from you, bagay na bagay sa blue cove lights ko sa ceiling. :)

Sorry for the long delay, installation ng split type aircon & glass sa cabinets palang ang update. New home kasi ito kaya ang priority ko muna are the bedrooms, kitchen & living/dining rooms. Baka magalit kasi wifey kung HT pa prioritize ko. Although gusto ko nga sana priority yun HT. ;D Please be patient... :)

Thanks bro sa compliment. :) Wala na akong balak pa carpet, wood parquet na talaga choice ko from the beginning. I think mas ok yun sound pag naka carpet pero from experience ng brother ko whose bedroom is carpeted nakaka sinusitis yun. ;D

Thanks pekspert! Not the same room. Hindi ko na binalak mag carpet, I think wood parquet is the next best thing. Ang alam ko basta don't use tiles or cement floors, malakas kasi ang sound reflections nito. :)

IME it should be balanced lang of absorbtive , diffusive and reflective materials within the room :) Den congrats in advance,very nice color indeed ;) If in case may echo room mo you can always add AREA RUGS to tame it ;) parquet or wood laminates still elegant for me :)

Thanks ricky! The recliners arrived yesterday, you are right about the correct balance of diffusive, reflective & materials that absorb sound. The recliners improved the effect of the subwoofer, cancel some reflections in the front speakers also. Will post pics soon. :)

When you connect the hdmi cable, try to anchor it to other cables sa tabi nya. Ang problema ng hdmi cable is that physically, it is so big and heavy that over time, it starts to sag, tapos nagiging loose connection.

Grey yun color ng ceiling, compare mo yun white ng cornice sa ceiling. Walang acoustic treatment yun walls pero may suggestion si ashley of audible illusions mga acoustic panels, although ok naman yun sound pero anything that would improve & minimize reflections is welcome. Just finish this theater, now thinking of improving it na, gastos nanaman. ;D

Hi hubes! Thanks for the compliment :) My room's width is about 3.20 meters. I'm not exacly sure about the size of the sofa chairs but there's just about a foot of space on one side of the sofa & about 6" space on the other side. One side lang pwede daanan, as you can see from the pictures may post kasi sa one side kaya off center yun seats ko.

If you have a spare room, projector is really the way to go to get the theater feel, IMHO. I think it is still cheaper to get a Panasonic AE-1000 full 1080p projector & a draper 16x9 100" screen than to buy a LCD 100" Flat panel TV. ;D Pero depende din siguro kung saan mo gagamitin.

Fully agree. A big objective of a good film is to create an illusion that you are in the movie. It helps a lot when the screen is HUGE! ;D
By the way, is there a 100" LCD TV in the market? Ang alam ko lang is the 103" plasma of Panasonic or Pioneer which costs PhP3.5 Million. :o

HDMI seem to be the only way to go with the pioneer dv-600 & AE900 combination, tried using component outputs & let the projector upscale but I get better results with hdmi & let the dv-600 upscale the video.

I have a custom playseat with g25 it is 1/3 cheaper but, i guess i'm having problems with the storage now. Sayang if i knew it was foldable i would have thought of buying the original playseat.

Yup, hyperdrive is too low. Got it long time back at konti pa lang ang available racing seat during those time. Got it around AU$300.

Yes, the pedals & the steering wheels are screwed on the base, kasama na din yun mga screws sa playseats. I think this playseats are made for G25. ;D I'm still waiting for my shifter holder, option kasi yun :-\ kaya nasa floor muna yun shifter ko.

Yun shipping cost as much as the playseats ;D No choice eh, wala naman dito. I saw the custom playseats they are selling here pero I think naka fix lahat, yun seat lang ang adjustable. I saw the video sa you tube ng local custom made na playseat, lakas ng wobble sa steering column. :-\

Not yet, I still have a long way to go. I set everything to as real as possible by turning off all assist with only the traction control set to 3 or 5 depending on what car I drive. Kaya medyo natatagalan ako pero enjoy naman & para masulit din itong GT5. :D

The remote extender consist of 2 battery transmitters with 1 AA & 1 AAA sleeve and the receiver with built-in charger. This work simply by installing 1 battery transmitter sa remote control. Then just install the remote reciever near your equipment & plug(110v) it in, may kasama din pala siyang 1 wired IR emitter in case you need it. Basta yun remote control mo AA or AAA ang gamit na battery, I think it will work. No line of sight needed kahit na nasa ibang room ka pwede. :)

The battery is rechargeable, yun remote receiver doubles as a battery charger. Bale 1 remote lang pwede gamitin kasi you need the AAA sleeve para sa AA. I suggest sa universal remote control mo siya gamitin or buy extra battery.

Medyo ok na pero kelangan pa konting ligpit. Dami pa nakakalat na boxes and di ko pa naaayos yung mga cables sa likod ng A/V Rack. Pero operational na. Hehehehe... Way better than the living room. Meron talagang wow effect.

I was considering buying the spyder2 before but after reading about it from various forums, may inconsistency daw kasi yun spyder2. The next better option na within my budget is the eye one display LT. So far works great, even calibrated my old CRT PC monitor.

Have you tried entering the Service Menu? These are the codes I got through AVS Forum for the AE900. Ingat lang if you enter the Service Menu!
Press the {MENU} button.
Go to "Options" menu.
Highlight "OSD".
Then press and hold the {ENTER} button,
until the Service Menu is displayed.
Press the {MENU} button to exit.
==================================================
Turn the Projector on.
Press the {POWER} button.
A "Power Off" confirmation will come up on screen.
Then press {LEFT} {UP} {DOWN} {UP} {DOWN}
& {ENTER} buttons.
The Service Menu will be displayed.
To exit, turn the Projector Off.

Yes, I'm happy I did. Never thought I can squeeze more out of my old B&W speakers & yamaha receiver. :)
With the calibrated greyscale & acoustic panels, just watch Kingdom of Heaven bluray last night. I was really amaze with the PQ & AQ. I was smiling the whole 194min movie. ;D

Thanks gunblade977! 1st noticeable improvement is the tight low bass, now you can feel the subwoofer (the bass traps minimized the standing waves). :)

I let the dv600 upscale kaya naka 720p settings ko & set to component using HDMI. Pangit mag upscale yun AE900 kaya better to let the dv600 do the upscaling. I have the dvd ng casino royale r3, I watch it before(without grayscale calibration, video essentials dvd lang & cinema 2). Hindi naman redish, I really like the transfer ng casino royale r3 good color & contrast, almost like bluray na sa mga close up shots(of course sa mga wide angle shots dun mo makikita difference ng bluray). I'll check it out later(calibrated grayscale settings this time) & I'll let you know tomorrow. :)

You are correct there Jazzy Jake, super upgrade! Big difference & new experience ang effect ng PB12NSD. My room size 18'(l) x 11'(w) x 8.5'(h), the PB12 is well integrated sa whole system, smooth/powerful bass. Even listening to CD music is now enjoyable again. I think the SVS compliment the brightness of the B&W 600 speakers.

Hello Lancito, my receiver only allows me to select either full range or 90Hz (large or small speakers). I set all my speakers to small(90Hz crossover) & disabled the sub crossover switch.

Thanks frootloops! Yes, I got this from finiture last week, value for money talaga. IMHO this seat beats those that cost 3x more. very comfortable specially when naka recline, parang pwede ka ng matulog dito. :D

Watching the "FREE" U2 360 BD disc that you gave me right now! Galing ng live version ng Ultraviolet... one of my all-time favorite U2 song. It was not on any of the 3 older DVDs that I have.
Weird lang playing this back with PowerDVD 10, at classic menu mode ok pero with the cinema menu mode walang audio. Bug siguro since bago lang itong PowerDVD 10.
I hope they play here in Pinas soon. Rock On!

After recalibrating, reattaching & cutting old bare wires from the speaker wires, upgrading my old what I think is a category 1 HDMI cables to category 2 & setting my desired sub levels(+3-5db relative to audyssey calibration) from the SVS... Now I'm happy with the sound I'm hearing from the 708. :D

A friend of mine recently bought and installed one. Out of the box, even without any calibration, the pq was gorgeous. We watched the Pacquiao-Marquez fight with Cignal HD and it was incredibly good ... except for Pacman's performance which was unfortunately mediocre. ;D
It's really a very good projector. Very bright. Nice colors.

Frankly, except for brightness & contrast, di ko pa sya na-calibrate kasi bago. You should wait till a minimum of about 60 hours before doing a grayscale/gamma calibration. I think ginagamit ng friend ko is Cinema1. To me, it looked good. Baka this Sunday, calibrate ko sya so at that time, I can tell you what's the better setting.

Yes, sulit nga ang Panasonic PJ's. Happy pa din ako sa AE900 but this upgrade itch just won't go away. ;D

Existing 4 year old HDMI cable still works with this pj connected to ps3, Onkyo 708. 3D works on the ps3 even with DTS HD MA & Dolby True HD. :) But can't use the Onkyo 708 remote while watching 3D, maybe infrared emitter conflict. ???
Out of the box settings on this pj is impressive, bright even on eco mode. Tried Cinema1, D-cinema & REC709... There's still room to squeeze out of this pj after calibration.
How's your calibration with this pj sir Mark?
P.S. GT5 looks great with this pj. 8)

Ok naman result ng calibration but it was very difficult because the light output was very low, dahil nga malayo lang masyado ang pj. Baka 2 more weeks before I sort it out.

I finally did a good calibration of the AE7000. We used the "Normal" picture setting (not "Cinema 1") because it is pretty bright. After calibration, the light output was 17 foot-lamberts, which is pretty decent.
I'd say the pq is practically the same as the AE4000, which is good. 3D was also pretty cool but for me, it was too dark. The pj should have been mounted closer to the screen and the screen gain should have been at least 1.5 in order to get the correct brightness. This is what you should keep in mind most for 3D. You need a really bright picture because the glasses reduce light output by half.

Haven't tried 3D yet, waiting for my glasses to arrive. Been using REC709 with all default settings. I've watch the bluray version of Star Wars Episode I to III, coming from AE900, I'm really impress with how much detail this pj has. Specially on Episode III, really good black levels too. Cinema1 is too bright for me, medyo washed out na sa dark scenes. My pj is set at about 12ft from the screen, even on a screen gain of 0.8 very bright siya sa 2D content, will update you Mark on how 3D is, as soon as I have the glasses with me. Calibration... Will try it soon.

Finally got my 3D glasses. Watched Tron Legacy 3D bluray the other night, the glasses really lower the brightness in half, I have to set the picture mode to dynamic & the 3D glasses to light to get the right brightness. Really impressive yun 3D nitong pj but as a person who don't wear glasses medyo ilang ako sa frame ng glasses while watching a movie. ;D Overall happy with this pj, I tried rewatching toy story 3 bluray 2D. I'm seeing details I haven't seen on my old pj. :)

good thing about emotiva is you can get separates sounds on a receiver budget. i got my amp and preamp/processor for the price of a midrange receiver. i've had good receivers from Harman/Kardon, NAD, Marantz before and none of them can give my dynaudios the fuller sound i want. i ordered the emotiva combo and figured i'd just return it if i don't like them but my jaw dropped when i heard them with my dyns. sonic nirvana talaga, hehehe..
i know there are other amps there that would sound better but if you're on a budget, IMHO, walang tatalo sa emotiva. ;)

Mark, maganda sound quality nitong Paradigm & mas immersive talaga pag same brand & model line ng speakers. Watch The Pacific last night, those planes going around(seamlessly) sa surrounds speakers before they appear sa screen & drop the bomb add realism to the (mini-series)movie. The height ng Monitor 9 is perfect din because the tweeter is the same height as our ear, adds more detailed panning effect. Watch The 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Concerts, great audio quality nitong disc. Sa concert na ito you can test your speakers sa lahat ng genre of music from Simon & Garfunkel to Metallica. I love how the speakers handled them all.
But! There's still more too squeeze out from the Paradigm that a power amp can do. Until the next update... :D

nice upgrade! i'm always curious of paradigms sound as i haven't done serious listening on their higher end models. i've tested PSB (also a canadian brand) image b5 before and it didn't have the sound i was expecting so i returned them after a week.

nice upgrade! i'm always curious of paradigms sound as i haven't done serious listening on their higher end models. i've tested PSB (also a canadian brand) image b5 before and it didn't have the sound i was expecting so i returned them after a week.
I got interested with Paradigm when I got the Atom for audio listening. I like the laid back, airy, detailed sound quality. I also haven't tried listening to their higher end models & don't intend to try them... for now. :D

oh ok. that explains why. ako naman kse i prefer the forward sound of the dynaudios. very detailed and revealing lalo sa midrange. i love listening to female vocals with the instruments just a bit laid back on the background. i tried b&w before as well before and though it sounded good, it wasn't really my cup of tea. very subjective talaga itong pakikinig nating lahat. :)

Ang napansin ko is more vivid color, more sharper, more details & better black levels. Add ko na din na more immersive yun front & surround channels. Thanks! :)
