i'll go to S&S tonight to reserve one. 50-50 dvd and regular cable/tv.  sana walang maging problema.

pano ang warranty ni S&S? 1 year lang ba? thanks!

enjoying watching them dvd's again. okay rin pala siya when the contrast and brightness are set to zero in a dark room.

baka mamaya oldies, Casablanca, normally how do you watch those 4:3, minsan gamit ko zoom1 kundi 4:3 kaysa tumaba ang mukha ni Humphrey he he...

You said it bro! Sarap talaga panoorin ulit yung mga dati mong dvds if you have new AV gears.  It's like watching them again for the 1st time.

you may try to use the just mode if youre watching 4:3 mode, the side area is the stretched part only the center of the screen is not stretched that's my wife setting if she's watching local channels but me i always watch in 4:3 mode if im wtaching a 4:3 format anyway its stilll big pa rin naman eh and nothing is loss and strecthed

my biggest concern is the Burn in Image ( did i term it correctly? ;D)  sir vic, if this happens to my unit, is it covered by the warranty? palit ng unit?

cheers!

For the mere fact that the Manufacturing Company cannot determine if the burn-in TV is damaged due to improper use or not, the manufacturer cannot provide guaranty for screen burn-in.

now in the break in preiod, using dvd9 discs, instead of zooming in 3x using the tv's zoom function, i zoom in once sa dvd and zoom 1x sa tv, pag 3x na kasi sa tv soobrang pixelise na. tama ba to? in this setting kasi wala ng black bars.  thanks!

Yes, pixellated talaga pag naka-zoom.

OK lang ang 1x zoom mo sa DVD kasi walang black bars. Pero kulang siguro ang zoom mo sa TV kasi may mga station logos and bottom text/ticker pa rin?

On breaking in can we just use the A-B feature of the dvd player by labelling the start as A then the end as B then use repeat?  At least you wouldn't be looking at your setup once in awhile to check if the dvd is finished already during long hours of breaking in.

i've downloaded a break-in dvd for plasma, my bad i just lost the link so i can post it here... but if you want to copy i can give to you it's a good dvd that displays every color in the entire screen, when i break in my pv70 i just left it playing and it is automatically looped so you won't worry being stopped...

i finished my break-in period for less than 10 days my wife just played 10 hrs or more per day when i'm at the office...

if you want to copy just pm me (it is not pirated because it has no copyright and it is created by some groups of people and it is not for sale)

anchit,

try mo i-cinema mode during cable tv viewing.  mas walang dumi.  softer picture lang nga.  see if you prefer it to the default setting.

has anyone used an infrared wireless headphone with the pv70?
1. is there heavy interference?  do you hear more interference than actual tv volume?
2. is there still sound coming out of the plasma speakers even if you plug in the headphone jack?

hi, thanks for the advise, it is somehow better, but still not what i have expected. maulan pa din sya. sa standard rating, i rate the "ulan, dumi" 8/10, 10 being the highest, iun cinema mode, 6.5/10, still un acceptable. :(

im not sure, parng i read it somewhere here na they got very good PQ even when connected to cable tv, is it my connection ( skycable, Camanava area, with digibox)? should i also contact my cable operator? o should i raise this to the supplier of my panny?

If it cant be eliminated, id be forced to buy a new CRT, kasi yung 29"sammy ko binigay ko na sa gf ko,as part of the deal. :(

Thanks a lot mga sir!

i was anticipating that the  PQ, in terms of detail, color will not be as good, pero i didnt expect yung "ulan".  :(

was at Theater works last weekend, saw their sammy 42" na ka TV, OK naman sya, sabi pa nung rep " sir antenna pa lang yan, di pa cable yan".  compared to what i saw, compared to what i have right now, diff is night and day. :(

on a brighter side, happy with the PQ when using regular DVDs,pano pa kaya kung HD o BD?

OK yan if the DVD's play will never hang.  Ang problema, you'll never know when the disc play might freeze.

I used GMA/ABS-CBN for break-in.  Mabilis kasi silang mag-shift sa generator pag may brownout sa station.

The break-in disc is better used when you are available to periodically check the player.  The break-in disc's white screen is also useful for checking if burn-in/IR is present on the panel.

Baka naman grounded cable?

Hula ko lang yan, ha.  May nabasa lang kasi akong mga 3 or 4 posts dito na ganyan ang topic e.

Example:

Just an update.  I had an electrician check out what the problem is with my cable.  It turned out grounded daw.  Anyway, they were able to fix the problem and now, cable reception is as clear as my CRT (or parang clearer pa nga especially if you're watching from 8 feet away.  I couldn't be happier.  I thought pangit ang tuner ng Samsung, I was wrong.

Yes.  Ang bad TV reception kasi ay less obvious pag CRT ang monitor, pero puwedeng unwatchable na pag LCD or plasma na ang monitor.

I have no personal experience with the problem.  Posts lang ni sir R1DVD ang basis ko ;D.

yes, I've taken that into consideration.  Viewing distance is 10-12 ft.  This morning I transferred the LCD to the family room where my 29" sony CRT is connected.  Reception with the CRT is good, but when I connected the LCD, pictures are grainy and again, some channels are unwatchable,

just curious, so how did the electrician test for a grounded cable signal?  ???

Not really sure.  KInabitan lang niya ng tester at tiningnan yung palo ng needle and then may kinalikot siya.  After a while ok na.  Sorry, I can't give much detail at di ko rin naintindihan, pero super happy na ako sa LCD reception ko.

Same problem with my unit. As in hindi mo maaninag ang face ng character pag regular local TV station viewing (thru aerial antenna) :D
Ang solusyon ko, watch nalang using Sony CRT25Inch pag TV station. Pag movie plasma.

Any other possible solutions para mag-improve iyong reception ng local TV stations? I'm planning to buy one to replace my old crt tv, but if i have to switch between this plasma and my old crt tv when viewing local tv channels i would rather buy a projector for movie viewing and use my crt for local tv viewing.

i don't see any problem with this tv (42pv70) using aerial antenna. from what i experience i just connect the cable which is connected in my old crt then presto no more adjustments needed after the auto program yun na. cguro just get a nice coax cable and any ordinary antenna would do. in my case im using my old fake baron antenna that is connected to my crt. wala na ko binago pa. plug and play
