In Amazon, it says $999  :o and they even said that its the slashed price.  :P

I saw an ad here in the Phils for a Sony Blu Ray stand alone player - cost like 65 k... oh well, its a sony... so who cares. Id probably get the LG instead if I can afford this sony, with shipping and handling, probably get it for 51k. me sukli pa!  :D

No iHD? No sale. I'd still rather get a Toshiba HD-A20 and a PS3 for roughly the same price (or cheaper).
The war is over...  Now bring on the classics on HD!

An alternative to those who want to go format neutral is to get a Toshiba HD-A2 ($299 or around 20k landed cost) and a PS3 (which resells here at around 24-25k)  so that would be around 45k at most......and you still have PS3 for some gaming.....

The knack I have with this dual format player is that it doesnt support HD DVD iHD interactive menus......so no interactivity in that part.

just my opinion..... ;)

Well, yeah if your paying like extra 5 to 10 bucks for interactive and additional commentaries this might be an issue.

As mentioned by Munskie & others, the player does not support HDi interactive menu for HD DVDs. So you will miss out some of the nice experiences offered by HD DVD discs. Also, some consumers claim the player has problem outputting at 1080p.  :-\

Price is still too high + high risk? ;D It's better to wait until a newer dual format player to be released in the market that meet all the necessary requirements. Or as others suggested perhaps it's better & cheaper to get two separate  players? :)
