Aureaus outdid himself and all the other entries that I've seen so far with Pisay. Kudos to the man!

The UP Film Institute is also screening it next week, along with other Cinemalaya entries. Poster and details here.

Cool! I hope I can find some free time to watch all of the films. Glad to see that our film org in Masscomm UP Cineastes Studio is sponsoring the event. Makes me want to watch more.

wanted to watch Pisay's 5:00 PM showing at the UP Cine Adarna today, but when I got there at around 4:40 PM, all tickets were already sold out. As it is the line is already incredibly long. :(

learned my lesson & will buy tomorrow's screening tickets earlier...

Pisay played to a sold-out/jampacked U.P. Cine Adarna last Tuesday. Lots of Pisay students. Quite an experience when majority of the audience relate very much to the film. Lots of jeering and cheering!
Retro look was o.k. except for the "aging" factor. i maybe asking too much. "aging" effect-high degree of difficulty i know, but 4 years of adolescence and they still look like freshmen!
Bit bothered also by Charlie Peralta's camera work and color grading (rou-mo-rounin). Also wondered why Aureus shot it in 4:3 format or was it just the DVD copy?
But I really enjoyed watching the film. He has consistently maintained a certain style and flavor. It has been there since his 'Huling El Bimbo' music video. Congrats to Aureus, cast and crew!!!
Wondered what ever happened to Paolo Herras' script based on lives of Phil. Highschool for the Arts students?
