Actually, weather-weather din ang preference ko. Paminsan music, paminsan movies and quite often a movie followed by a concert clip. $30k yata ang Lam Monoblocks and parang 18 wpc. Medyo kulang power niya, buti na lang.

It took a week to fabricate the brackets for the 2 pairs of Focal Profile 908 speakers. If you are familiar with the Focal logo, you will notice that the speaker is upside down. The reason is that the speaker is naturally tilted upwards but since I am mounting it high, it should tilt downwards. Hence, it's upside down.



This is a photo of the Profile 908 and the Electra 1007 S. The Electra is mounted much higher and it weighs 30 lbs, whereas the Profile is 18 lbs. However, the woofer and tweeter of the 2 speakers are exactly the same. They match perfectly.



Here's a photo of the Electra 1037 Be with its grill removed. Looks pretty awesome.

Yesterday, Hansen, @Setup and his brother, @Gaol and @Iiinas came over to listen to the new setup.

The addition of the Profiles has provided even more detail to the surrounds and has made them blend better with the rest of the speakers. One feels totally immersed and enveloped in the movie.

The other thing we found out was that the Profile 908 speaker is pretty awesome by itself. We ran a pair as stereo and it was incredible.

Hi Christian! Yes, there is even more acoustic detail now. Instrument separation is more defined. Another thing that struck me is the cleanness of the panning. I recall a car moving from front to left back and the sound was so realistic. Mapapalingon ka sa likod.

The Focals are really something else. That makes me wonder, what else can you get from the P8M/pair focal Utopias versus yours ? ....

573 lbs and almost 7' high Grande Utopia. Its footprint is about 2' x 3'. Haven't heard it but it must be good. You need a room twice the size of my HT. Now, that's a good project -- new house, new HT.

Hi Nelson! High end talaga ang Profile 908 speakers. I was amazed how good they sounded in stereo, without any equalization. When you match them to the rest of the Focals, you create a super-detailed surround experience. It's only now that I can say that I truly appreciate the value of using a full set of speakers from the same family (more or less, hehe) - the blending of the speakers is so good that even with 11 speakers and 4 subs, you can't tell where the sound is coming from. The speakers disappear.

Yes and no. Universal adjustment siya and matibay but there was an error sa design. Kung mapansin mo, di sagad ang speaker sa likod. Reason is that nasa baba ang tweeter and kung isagad ang speaker sa likod, nasa harap at baba ng tweeter ang isang metal brace - bad reflection. Kaya aayusin ko pa ang brace - iaatras siya.

Kapag naayos ko na ito (and sana maayos din ang isang Aragon amp ko), pwede na EB.
