Hi Donnel! Di ko nakalimutan ang request mo to play 1812 sa plaka during the EB. Natakot AV Driver. Baka raw tumalon tonearm ng TT. Wasak ang P100k na karayom.  ;D ;D

Mahina ang karayon pag hindi kinaya ang 1812. Yung LP ko Hollywood Bowl Orchestra pa ang bumanat..using real cannon's as well. ;D

Hoping to drop by soon Senor.  ;)

I'm very luck I was given the opportunity to audition this system... and all I can say is.... WOW!! :o :o :o

Until now I still can't get the experience off my mind. Ibang klase!! In the dvd and bluray concerts/musicals that were played, it felt as if I was right there at the front row seat of the concert hall. In Saving Private Ryan, parang nasa gitna ka ng giyera that it was stressful to watch (in a positive way). The guns and explosions felt life-like. In the movie How To Train Your Dragon, grabe yung low frequency extension dun sa isang part.. na feel ko na gumapang sa buong katawan ko.

Picture quality is excellent na nagpa-pop out yung colors and parang 3-dimensional yung images. Skintones are also very accurate.

The overall experience was truly AMAZING! 8)

Thanks a lot sir Mark!

Hingi na rin po sana ng tips and advice on how to improve our system.

Thanks din po pala for the food and wine, and especially for your hospitality! ;)

Kelan kaya yung monoblock nung center? Hmmm...  ;D

The reason why? This firmware upgrade:
http://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/products/new/673220.html

Now he'd get the processing that he likes in his AVR, the design and build of a high-end pre-pro, and the advantage of balanced outputs.  ;)

Biro lang, sir Mark... pero knowing you baka totohanin mo. ;D

6 to 7 weeks for the monoblock for the center.  :)

I'm familiar with the AVP-A1HDCI upgrade plan. No interest really. I don't think I will get any distinct benefits. My understanding is that you need balanced outputs only when the cable run is very long.

Other than that and the monoblock, wala ako immediate interes sa upgrade. In the future -- automated masking system for the screen and an automated video calibration system. Meanwhile, relax muna and enjoy the system.  :) :)

Ayun oh! :) Triple-treat na yung monoblocks mo. Sakto yung dedicated circuits mo for the HT room.  ;)

That's indeed true, pero the different output circuitries tend to offer slightly different sonic flavors din. You might prefer one over the other (though XT32 might clean up most of the difference in coloration anyway).

What might appeal more is the OC build of higher-end designs. Overbuilt subsystems and independent power supplies. ;)

Upgrade or not, napakaganda na po ng system niyo. :)

Siguro kung meron akong pure analog system, baka may marinig akong difference ... but I'm using heavy equalization and as you said, Audyssey MultEQ XT32 already has a huge effect on the sound. Bottom-line is that I really don't think I'll hear a difference.  :)

I'd rather buy a pair of Focal Diablo Utopias to use as the surrounds. Kahit mas malaki gastos, at least sure ako na may maririnig akong improvement.  ;D ;D

Kamusta po? No plans of installing a turntable?

I recently bought one for my system and it is a whole new world in terms of sound!! :o Never enjoyed music as much as I do now.

Hehe. Mukhang napalihis ka sa dark side.  ;D

During the EB last March, we had a P300k turntable connected to the Maestros. ;D

Each to his own. I find TT to be warm but it has a limited dynamic range and a particularly high noise floor. It's also susceptible to scratches. I think it's a good hobby but in terms of accuracy, I think it's hard to beat a well-recorded SACD, Bluray lossless concert or even a DVD/CD. Finally, the LPs are very limited in number and the good ones are extremely expensive.

In my still very limited knowledge on turntables, baka di lang po nagmatch sa system niyo yung 300k TT set-up. I tried different combinations of turntables and cartridges and the sound they produce are significantly different. About the needle, meron naman po yung matibay pero maganda rin tumunog.

Pero kanya kanyang preference nga talaga yan. :)

If the TT's sound different, it seems to me that they do not have a neutral sound. In fact, my understanding of the analog world is that people try to mix and match components which have warm or bright or whatever sounds in order to achieve what they feel sounds good to them -- "preference". In my case, I "prefer" to listen to "reference" sounds, which is neutral. This requires acoustic treatment, proper speaker and sofa positioning and electronic equalization.

At the end of the day, I believe that everyone is looking for "accurate" sound reproduction. "Analog" guys try to achieve this through equipment matching (including cables) while people like me do it through some other ways -- acoustic treatment, positioning and EQ.

Bottom-line is that a TT may sound different and you may like that (and that's fine) but that's your "preference" and it may not be "reference".

this is the reason why a lot of people do not enjoy or would have different view of the result of Audyssey. Audyssey as what the founder said, calibrates to set things to "reference setting" or closer to it and any alteration on the result make it preference setting.

in the case of sir mark's ht set up, setting has always been at reference

In my view, all of us are trying to achieve the same thing -- enjoy a beautiful audio experience.

In the analog world, there are particular rules -- don't use any processing, no equalization, no DSP chips and preferably no subwoofer. I'm pretty certain that you can achieve excellent sound with these rules, provided that you have a room which is a minimum of 100 square meters, a minimum of acoustic treatment, Focal Grande Utopias or equivalent speakers and adequate amplification. Most people don't have these so they use speaker cables, interconnects, tubes and whatever equipment to achieve what sounds right to them.

In the digital world, people don't follow these rules. They use a lot more equalization and acoustic treatment + they use subwoofers.

I prefer the digital world ... but that doesn't mean that sometime in the future, I might still get a TT -- just for fun.  :)

Understand what I'm saying -- the analog world rules are interesting, fun and challenging! But that's just not me.

thats why i have decided to stick it out with the digital world sir mark because i find it easier for me to grasp it apart from shying away from additional cost putting up another set up

About the analog and digital thingy.. I agree na kanya kanyang preference talaga yan. Personally, I love both. I want a reference digital HT system and a preferred sound in my turntable and CD player set-up. ;D I'm trying my best to combine the two. 8)

No doubt sir Mark you prefer the digital world.. Your system is probably one of the best if not the best HT system here. You have the finest equipments, hi-tech calibration tools and most importantly the knowledge and passion in setting up and tuning a system to reference level. ;)

Hi Sir Mark! Thank you for the priviledge of hearing and seeing your wonderful HT! I only saw them on pics but today I got the chance to see and hear them. I was stunned (plus napamura silently  :D). Thank you again and pasensya na po hindi na kami nagtagal. Driver po ako today and spent some family time this evening. More power to yo sir! Your HT was both an inspiration and motivation to me.  ;) I hope to have a grande HT room in the future too. Wish me luck sir!  :)
Your stature does not mean that you are a better person than anyone else less $$$ wealthier than you
