I want to thank everyone who joined the EB yesterday for coming, and for the drinks and food you brought. I know that some of you guys came from quite far away. Special mention to sanmig_ph who took a few hours to get to the house. There also seems to be a big Sta Rosa mafia that attended.
As I mentioned in my PM to you guys, the HD blind test was only one of the objectives of the EB. I thought of organizing a really big EB when the Warning thread blew up and seemed to cause mistrust and paranoia in the community. I thought that a big masaya EB would help to bring back the camaraderie at Pinoydvd, and I think we have achieved that objective. Special mention siguro sa mga magugulo kagaya ni xxxyzledge and his special requests.
Special mention din to Waxx, the Pinoydvd idol and Mr. Golden Ears.
Mahirap din to organize the EB, lalo na ang procedure for the blind test. I had to re-calibrate the pj and individually calibrate each source. Had to choose scenes which would best show the differences between HD and SD video and audio. Had to design a simple scoring system and tabulation method. But actually, what was giving me sleepless nights was the possibility that one of the key components would break down in the middle ... like the pj lamp blowing, or the fuse of the AVR - it happens. Mabuti na lang that all went well.
Maraming salamat to iiinas, who went to the house at 9 a.m. and helped me to work out the actual details of which scenes to show and of how to switch between scenes, etc. I couldn't have done the blind test without his help.
I am really looking forward to the next EB. Revskie has offered his place and my friend's HT at Sta Rosa is also available - it's quite big, mga 40 square meters siguro.
