review na lang. hehehehe.
sound is very uncolored. nung wednesday, anthony at my prodding dropped off his "demo". this was the full range driver using an enclosure from one of his old designs. the enclosure was bare, had a tweeter hole and since this was full range, he put plastic wrapper just to cover hole. i actually liked it. it had the real diy look.. of course it had a nice looking driver but the sight of the bare mdf was amazing. now, the sound i really liked. it's the only speaker i heard na talagang black yung background. i don't even have my bada line conditioner as i sold it just recently. instruments just hang in the air and there's none of that feeling i have na i want to hear more into the sound cause you actually get to hear even the pinaka likod ng mga layers.
when i got my set last night, it had an even blacker background. diy_master - the master ? hehe said it's because it had a real box na and internal damping. the set is 3 towers, all single driver, full range, crossover less stuff.
the bass: bass goes down to twenty something hertz. halos ruler flat yung frequency response cause not even the bass was boomy. sounded very linear from top to bottom.
the mid: quite neutral. quite clear.
the highs: even if it goes up to 19khz, i found it quite airy (without my tube buffer at that. just my sound card) and the highs were "sparkling".
it's a speaker for the purist. you don't bother yourself with "oh it's very detailed, ganda ng imaging" and other blah blah things. you get these things but you pay attention to the music more than with "audiophile things". with movies, it's just the same. very engrossing, dialog was quite articulate even at 20 minutes break in. didn't even have to add volume to the center to make it louder. since this is 3 towers. you don't get that feeling na parang maliit sa gitna ? yeah. hopefully i'm not the only one who noticed this cause i might check myself in to audiophile rehab ward. hehehe. it's more like you get a wall of sound. one continuous soundstage. now i gotta another pair para seamless ang front to back and not just left to right.
anyways, thanks for reading. carry on
. oh and if you made it this far, thank you. tinamad na ako mag edit and go over what i wrote cause it's so frickin' long.
