A-audio Tip!

Since pinoydvd is a site where members share their audio experiences and projects.
I decided to share a little tweak that may improve the sound of your A-audio speakers
The tweak is very very simple and does not require you to open your speaker.

All you need to do is remove the original copper links from the speaker terminals.

Replace it with Gauge 12 THHN wires, it should cost not more than php30 per meter in your local hardware.

Just like this

The result:

To my ears,
the sound becomes generally cleaner, details especially in guitars are more apparent and imaging is much more focused. I feel like I'm listening to a Bi-amp set up.

It's a cheap tweak that may improve your listening sessions.
It did help for me.

I did it too with my speaker but with 6pair of cat5 belden cable each terminal, it did help! Subukan ko din yan recommend nyong cable thanks for posting.

I'm also recommending using Belden CAT6 instead of CAT5e. Used the 8 twisted pair per binding post. I also used 2 wires of CAT6 on twisted not Braided for my speaker wire and it will give you clean, focused and detailed sound. Make your wire short as much as possible. I recommend 2.5 to 3.5 meters only in using CAT6.

So far I have tried it with

Dire Straight's Money for Nothing - (Ganda ng guitars dito)
Audiophile Voices 1 - Wala akong masabi sa mids / voices panalo.

I won't comment on the bass response as the unit is still new, and all my listening was done with my subwoofer on. Qguy is a certified BASShead, the sub will always be on, kahit KEF Reference with 12 inch woofers yung mains

Hehe I also have Anthony's fr bs. i attached keyhole slots (also given by Anthony) so I can hang in our bedroom. I'm using a Sony Ericsson wm player amplified by Jojo D's Baby G. to play mp3s. I use the walkman's equalizer to get the sound I like, depending on the music. What can I say, very good mids and upper bass, best quality for the price, am now very satisfied with my minimalist bedroom setup. Thanks Anthony (thanks din Jojo D for the baby g)!

What I noticed is that placing these speakers near the walls helps alot on the lower registers...

Its actually a DIY stand, made for my Usher X-719, Marble base and solid wood, its a bit light at 120 lbs each
