Guys, any personal experience/comments on the PSB Imagine Mini? Would appreciate any inputs.
To be positioned about 5 feet apart with near-field listening position around 6 feet away. By the way, if it will be paired with NAD 356 integrated amp, will it be too much considering the recommended power handling of the mini is 80 watts?
Thanks in advance...

I was impressed with the sound of the Imagine Mini at the last Hi-Fi show at Dusit. Of course due to the small size, satisfying bass would be its shortcoming.  It would need to be paired with a sub or for that matter just go for a bigger bookshelf speaker with decent bass performance. By the way I don't consider near-field listening to be 6 feet away though (this is more like a normal listening position) for me near-field means PC speakers about a foot or less away from me.

Thank you for the reply sir. I have an Image B6 that I use for movies and I also love it for audio.
I am putting up a 2-channel set-up and I've been listening to other systems para naman iba pero I can't seem to find anything like the sound of PSB's.
I actually want the Imagine B but I saw that there is a mini series, hehe...and the reviews in the net were positive. I think I heard this at the HiFi show but I wasn't really paying attention then as I was looking for other stuff at that time
I hope it can handle an 80 watt amp (it's recommended power handling is 10-80 watts)

It won't have any problem with the C356BEE. You control the volume knob anyway.

Listened to the Imagine Mini earlier. What can I say? IMPRESSIVE! It's so small. Just as big as an Image B4 but has a bit more depth. It was powered by the 356BEE and the people in the listening room thought it was those PSB floorstanders being demoed. Bass was freaking awesome for it's size. Highs have that sweet sounding sibilance. Then it gives you enough punch to fake you into thinking the sound was coming from bigger bookshelves. Try it out @ Watts Hifi Makati  ;)

Naku Master wag mo pakinggan yung Imagine T. Dahil I'm sure you'll get hooked. Parang walang panget na recording or music kapag yun ang ginagamit. Ibang lebel talaga. It's perfect for audio. Kapag ako nanalo sa lotto, I'd really get those speakers for my dedicated audio set.

But if you are more into HT, the T6 is a great choice too. Yung pinakagusto ko lang sa T6 is, on a dedicated audio setting, it has enough bass where you get to the point that you won't need a sub anymore for your music. Plus the T6 isn't that hard to drive vs the Imagine T. Tried the T6 with the diminutive Dared MP5 tube amp(13wpc) and it sings!

Last weekend i was able to audition the PSB subseries 200

A very musical sub. Very precise and can run really deep. I was surprised that the sound was coming from a ported sub like these. It has enough power to run your HT system. Watched transformers: dark of the moon using a single sub setup and you'll never find these lacking. Switched to audio listening, I could have sworn it was as accurate sounding as a midbass. Plus seeing that NAD-made amplifier at the back got me all the more excited  :) How I wish these come in Dark Cherry  :D SRP was 30k.

You should hear a Subseries 300 it is not as punchy as a Subseries/Subsonic 6i but goes a little bit deeper.  ;D Perfect for those who want "gapang" bass. :)

I'm actually intrigued by what the subseries 300 can offer since it has the same price as the 6i. The 6i specs though are very impressive where it can go 20hz easy.

I think it will depend on your preference. The 300 is smaller than the 6i if you care about the size and also lighter by 1.4 kgs. If you view it side by side you would think that the 300 is just a 10 or 8 incher sub.

As I posted earlier the 300 goes a little bit deeper but the 6i is punchier.

The 300 is using NAD designed amp while the 6i has a BASH amp.
300 has 300 Watts, 425 Watts, 850 Watts (Continuous, Dynamic, Peak Power) while 6i has 225 Watts, 325 Watts, 650 Watts.

For me I would get the 300 for the same price and even if higher by 5%.

Try both as it could be used at the same time and decide for yourself. :)

Master Conan,
I believe the 6i goes deeper than the 300 based on specs alone. The new PSB subs tend to be more for music because of it's tightness and accuracy. I'm planning to run this with the test tones you provided Rex to see if the specs were just underrated. I'll post my feedback as soon as I have it  :)
