master timi, comparing the cables, gauge 16 lang ata yung chord silverscreen, while the rega quattro is gauge 14 and is a bi-wire cable

mukhang maganda kasing value for money itong rega, which will make me wanna try it soon.

Well kung sa quality eh maganda talaga si REGA, may kamahalan nga lang last ako nagtanong, i think its 500 ata/meter.  As for the gauge, kung hindi ganon ka haba Master baka wala karin manotice na difference, this link is a good read.

oo nga po nag basa din ako sa Bi-amp / passive. daming rules, dapat daw bypass din yun Crossover dahil walang effect kung hindi gagawin. sa akin nmn po. using Rotel, naisip ko kasi dalawa yun speaker input A + B @ 4ohms. yun LF sa speaker A then yun isa nmn sa Speaker B. yun iba kasi magkapatong lang yun wire sa dahilang isa lang yun Speaker input.

Tama po kayo sir, may speaker a and speaker b, but unless there are independent power supplies, it is claimed that the result will be the same.  Pero syempre, our hobby is subjective and if you heard the difference sa system mo, then thats excellent. :)

Yah, well sa una meron significant, pero kapag nagtagal parang wala din effect. ang nasa isip ko po kasi baka lang kumapal yun gamit kong cable kaya nagbago. next project kung gagamit ng silver for HF and copper sa LF.

Thanks!

Hahahaha. Give it a try and ket me know, kung talagang malupit ang difference try ko yan.  By the way, check mo naman master G kung tama ba balak ko gawin, since i have a power amp all of my speakers are connected to it via pre-out, and now that i want to try bi-amping, i'm going to connect another speaker wire to the receivers fw/sb terminal and set the receiver setting to bi-amp.

It can damage the amp in some cases, lalo na yung mga medyo sophisticated ang protection mechanisms.

I think the real wood veneer finish starts on the Imagine upwards. If I'm in your position, without skipping a beat I'd choose the Imagine T. It's on a whole different level. The clarity, the crispiness and the finish, it's really amazing. The only thing you have to remember though, the Imagine T may be harder to drive than the Image T6. The T6 can be powered fine even by entry level AVRs.

Master, what about trying Cambridge Audio? like the 851a. I think that fits very well beneath your allotted budget. I have a CA+PSB pairing although it's a much lower end one but it works very well. It has retained the warm sound signature PSB has while being able to extend further in the HF than my NAD amp. Don Master Ivan has the highend version of my CA + PSB lineup.  ;)

Master, how about Image T5, B5 and C5 powered by onkyo 616 ok ba ang outcome or palitan ko B5 with polk audio Fxi a6, preference will be 50/50 music and movies

salamat po for your inputs.........

Finally got the B6. What amp can you suggest? I loved it paired with nad. Now i want to know if cambridge audio 740a goes well with the psb. Too bad 5th ave doesnt carry psb. Has anyone heard of ca+psb combo?

@onkyo616
The 616 can definitely power that set you are eyeing. I have an older 608 and it doesn't lack any dynamic power  needed when I watch movies on my T6. The image line's above average sensitivity really helps.

Hi Sientobente,

Will this T6 will have enough bass during power up on this onkyo since for now my budget allows only 5.0 set-up, sub to follow na lang. And how much do you think this T6 cost in cash....

Thanks again....

yes it can. the low frequencies are well pronounced even in my 608. it's better if you hear it for yourself. you can demo the actual setup in what hifi in makati cinema square, spectra in glorietta or sights and sounds in shangrila without a sub. just make sure you have a film you can use as a reference. for the pricing, they vary per store. you can pm otep_32(rex) for the best price, madali pa siyang kausap.  ;)

i've been looking for a dark cherry sub(to match my speakers) for a really long time. now i've given up, the criteria i want in a sub now would be something that is musical and can still shake your house and bother your neighbors if you wanted to. i've found this balance in the psb subseries 300.

there were a couple of tests i did to know if this was really a musical sub. first i tried a smallish bookshelf like the psb image b4 and used the subseries 300 to do more than just the regular lfe duties. i crossed the sub to 150hz, then played the usual stuff i listen to. viola! integrating the sub was seamless. those miniature bookshelf speakers sounded like large floorstanders, the stage became wider and the bass beats were precise and tight. it even offered more definition on the vocals. it really impressed me seeing that a ported sub like this can offer the accuracy we usually reserve for sealed subs. i also tried other speakers from rega, paradigm etc., and each one of them had the same effect which was a pleasant surprise.

for movie duties, based from ht lab measures, this sub can do 20hz on -6db. which is great! tried out the usual movies famous for their LFEs like tdkr, ironman 2, the incredible hulk etc. and wow, the details i'm looking for which i only use to hear from a different 3-letter sub, can be reproduced by these. i also loved the room interaction psb had in my bedroom. It wasn't as choosy on the location I position these subs to unlike my previous and other subs.

overall, i already found what i wanted and needed on a sub--- flexibility. the features aren't bad too. it's powered by a NAD class-D amp, so we are assured of the technology running into these babies. Spec-wise, it's a 12-incher than can do 850w of peak dynamic power which should be enough power to shake your house on those sudden movie explosions you enjoy. plus it's built sturdily too.

i know psb subs aren't really a popular choice here in pdvd, but yeah it's still a 3-letter sub  ;D and i would encourage everyone to try it out! here's to wishing it comes in dark cherry  :(

The subseries 1 is meant for really small spaces or as a pc sub for near field listening. the 5i/6i on the other hand are designs that focuses on spl performance. the newer models 200/300 focuses on musicality but still having that spl punch. the 5i and 6i can go deeper than the 200/300 but the latter set integrates itself much better on both your audio and movie needs. the amp used on the 5i/6i were Bash while on the 200/300 it's NAD.

Nice review brader Sientobente.  I am also contemplating on buying a sub for a 2.1 system.  My choices narrowed down to PSB sub-series and SVS SB12NSD or SVS SB1000.
