As requested by readers...
Pasensya na still busy with work still can't find the time to clean-up/re-arrange the room. I'm not good with cameras as well...
1. Current setup via hmdi... DVD->AVR->LCD
1080p capable... very nice with gladiator r1 and other disc... parang hd na but of course mas awesome ang hd
Crouching Tiger superbit... mirror-like scene (or ghosting? not!!!)...
2. Peformance with HD player... seen it work on demo at 1080p... very nice... and hopefully this weekend I can test it personally when a friend will lend me a ps3 for HD testing. There is only one hdmi input but i have an hdmi avr so ok lang...
3. Performance with PC... haven't personally tried siguro next month pag nag-upgrade ako ng PC with HDMI but seen it work on demo via D-sub(VGA) input, ok naman. VGA res should be 1366x786 and hopefully when I test it using hdmi 1920x1080p (hehe).
4. TV performance... what can you expect from analog cable signal on a 42" screen? anyway modular ito... i was suppose to purchase it w/o tuner (flyboard inserted at the rear) kasi for ht use naman... kaso kinabit na ng tech nila so nevermind. Possible upgrade to hd digital tuner in the future since modular.
5. Internal upscaler - dunno since i use the ext. dvd upscaler. Pero if i set the player on the lowest setting... pangit syempre sa lcd pero there seems to be no auto-upscaler sa tv or option to do so...
Not sure about this6. Manuals - couple of booklets... mostly in chinese, but one is in english... (you can d/l it here, compressed file with 3 pdf.. one is in english...
http://www.viewsonic.com/support/userguides.cfm?event=getUserGuides&serialNumber=n4262w)
7. Remote - modified chinese version (some printed surfaces covered by stickers w/ english-characters)
8. Ease of Use - i consider it idiot-proof naman
I got this around 3-4 weeks ago. The disty is my friend for over a decade already and we have been recently doing business together for a year na (IT-related)... so presyo-kaibangan.
If brand conscious ka... fyi viewsonic is a very reputable brand in the IT market. Not oddly enough, the viewsonic n4262p is similarly to this philips tv as shown in the cardboard that came with my philips dvd player... very likely they are both OEMed by TVM (i follow IT industry news btw)
In my honest opinion, even at the quoted gilmore price of 60++ pesos its a steal... this is easily the cheapest 42" 1080p TV in the local market and considering the PROs & CONs I'll still get an LCD over a plasma maski mas mahal or at the same price range. Generally mas mahal ang LCD sa plasma btw.
Bottom-line is kanyang-kanya satisfaction yan and its still your decision so pa-demo nyo maigi before deciding at wag nyo ako sisihin po! But me and my parents (who use it more that I do since busy ako lately) are very happy with the viewsonic n4262w.
Cheers... Sonny
