Thank so you so much Mykel for a nice evening with your Naim/Roksan/Devore setup.
"Wow" is word to describe the experience. Being a naimee myself, my expectations werevery high and I was not disappointed. Your system delivers all the goodies in spades
PRAT is all over the place! I can't hold down my feet from tapping because of the extreme musicality of the whole system. The musicians seem to be just in front peforming but not in a hifi way ( stage width, depth, layering etc). All these nice virtues are present but not in distractful way.
Bass is fast and tight, malapad ang mid and the highs are just pristine ( no artificial boost from upper mid/lower treble, like some monitors to emphasize female voices).
TT still the best source, with the CDX2 coming in at second (but the best for rock music, we both agreed on this
),and with the NDX streamer coming out at third ( though easiest to use and ergonomically friendliest)
I did not bring the Xavians 125 speakers fearing that the pair would be trampled down by the Devore 3xl.
I'm glad I didn't
I would say Mykel's system is right up there with the best in terms of musicality.
Word of warning for future auditioners - be prepared to empty your pockets once you hear Mykel's gears and possibly becomes a very happy Naim convert.
Its very addicting. You just want to hear music on and on with the added benefit of not having to worry about the hifi stuff.
And Naim gears are best left always on - kaya wala ng warm up period- music plays whenever needed.
Thanks again Mykel - you've made my short stay in the Phils memorable.
Enjoy your Naim journey, bro!
