Well deserved commendation for GM Mitch Kupchak by Laker Legend Jerry West.

This is still a dream coming true for us Laker fans. We really had no expectation going to the season. The offseason was such a mess that theres no way to go but up.

They are not done yet, but Ill be very happy with it already. Bonus na lang ang Championship.

Taas ni Kupchak no? Ex-Laker din sya, a PF at 6'9".

not even the championship this year would satisfy me. i won't be happy till they get the back-to-back next year, with bynum coming back to push odom to his normal position at sf, ariza giving kobe backup minutes, vlade off the bench to join farmar, vujacic, walton, and turiaf. they'll tear up the league.

How can the Lakers win back to back titles if Boston wins this year?

Boston na muna this year. The Lakers are young. They can go for a three-peat again in the coming years.

Six Things I Think I Think: Game 5 Lakers vs Spurs

1. Staples homecrowd chanting MVP. Now they have valid reason to cheer it next time, this time for Finals MVP. Kobe validated his MVP status, pumping 17 4th quarter points. Almost all of them keeping the Spurs at bay.

2. Jordan Farmar exemplified the vast improvement of the young Laker bench. He sparked the Laker comeback.

3. Game 5 is kinda reminiscent of Game 1. The 20 and 17 point lead in both games didnt feel insurmountable.

4. Another huge performance by Duncan in a losing cause, a triple double at 19pts, 15 rebs, 10 ast. He averaged 22 pts and 17 rebs in the series. Those are huge numbers, and are made ordinary just because he is Duncan.

5. As effective as the core trio of Duncan, Manu and Parker, the Spurs need frontcourt help. Their draft pick Tiago Splitter can be a project, but Tau Ceramica may keep him coz of more Euros. Tsk tsk...they shouldnt have let go of Scola.

6. The Spurs and the Lakers should be the blueprint on how to run a successful franchise. The Lakers are back in the Finals, after only three mediocre seasons, and have totally rebuild their roster. Let us see how the Spurs will rebuild their bench.

Congrats to the LA LAKERS!!!

I really like LA's chances going into the Finals, whether it's going to be Boston or Detroit. And I think being the road team will work in their favor. Kobe's on a mission!

Really didn't like the fact that Sasha still went for a shot at the end and the way the Los Angeles crowd booed the Spurs when The Logo asked them to give the Spurs a big hand for an excellent series.

Sasha is the machine, he wasnt thinking.

Some said it was for the fans, as there is always free tacos if the Lakers reach 100.

Kidding aside though, it was indeed wrong for Sasha to rub it in. I read he was reminded of it in the locker room. It was a mental mistake.

As for the Laker fans in Staples, it aint a class act indeed. Oh well, thats why theres a lot of Laker Haters too. They are everywhere.

1. Very unlikely. Remember everyone is playing for this, if you reach that point and cruise because of an event a few months ahead that's jsut insane. Also, Kobe is known for being very competitive taht's why you can expect 110% every finals game. Lastly, he's trying to prove something (MVP was deserved and he can win it without Shaq) so he'll go all out.

2. Sasha was just not thinking but it was still wrong...that was disrespectful.

3. I like Detroit in the East but with Rip and Mr. Big Shot hurt it'll be an unfair Finals series. So an 80s Finals will be more entertaining.

4. Lakers are going to be fine for the next 3-4 years (if they stay intact). 1st and 2nd group (especially) are really proving to be very formidable. The major obstacle will be free agency.

5. Lastly, MVP voters did not go wrong with Kobe. He showed why he is on top of the NBA right now. Taking over a close-out game during this point of the season. Very MVP-esque indeed.

Who do you think will guard Kobe in a Boston-Lakers finals...Posey and Pierce?

both Detroit and Boston played the Lakers during the regular season prior to the arrival of Gasol. They are in for big surprise this time around. The Lakers will be even more formidable next year with the arrival of a healthy Bynum and Ariza to boot. The only problem that they have would be that both Turiaf and Vujacic are both on the free agent list after this season and a lot of teams are keeping an eye on those two. Those teams might just offer big bucks to those two that the Lakers cant match due to their gigantic payroll.

I think they will both stay w/ the lakers for a chance to defend their crown should they win this year and if not, i think they will still be around for another chance to win a title.

It seems that the barometer for the spurs is manu ginobili, if you check the stats, whenever he's playing well the spurs are tough to beat, unfortunately for the spurs manu struggled in this series. 1 good game(game3 with 30pts) = 1win for the spurs. Lakers vs Celtics finals would be interesting..

Lakers vs Celtics is the match up evryone's praying for. I hope the Celtics will end their series against Detroit today so the casts for the NBA finals will be complete.
