any members here na nakita na or familiar sa amp na to? napansin ko lang ito on one of the stores here in makati, they're currently selling it at around 14k. And dahil newbie ako, am not sure if worth it sya.. pero maganda sya and mabigat... hehe..

kakatakot lang sa mga brands na ganito ay reliability at warranty.  May mga china made naman na tube amp tulad ng Cayin na at least alam natin matagal na sa market, marami international reviews, maganda, popular sa europe at US tapos okay pa yung distributor nila daw.  nakaka attract lang kasi sobrang mura hehehe.  kaya pwede na din kung disposable. pag sira tapon.  then again sayang rin itapon 14K

i think there are ALOT of overpriced tube amps.

the dared mp5 only goes for 8800 while some of the other brands that rebadge it sell it 2x to 3x more...

where in makati bro? para mapuntahan...

most if not all the tubes in this amp is difficult to source here in the Philippines, compared to the mainstream El34, 6550, Kt88, El84, etc...

anyway, correction po pala sa loc ng mall, nde na pala makati  yung, tagig na.
Market Market tagig, 5th flr, appliance center.

Anyway, i've been there a few days ago to audition the unit.. hehe unfortunately, am not satisfied sa narinig ko, due to the following factors..
           1. Demo media - be sure to bring your demo cd's.. hehe mp3 yung gamit nila. meron nga cd, "creed" naman.. nyahaha..
 nung paglapit ko nga sa sales lady na nandon, sabi ko pa-demo.. akalain mo bang sabihin sakin na may nakasalang na nga daw.. hehe, e videoke cd kaya yung nakasalang.. buti na lang lumapit yung talagang bantay don at pinalitan yung nakasalang.. hehe kaso nga, wala talaga silang maayos na media.. guys, medyo nde nila alam kung ano ibig sabihin ng demo... kaya guide them na lang..
            2. Speakers - they were using Videoke speakers..
            3. media players - chineese brand dvd players lang yung gamit..

Anyway, maybe we can talk directly sa supplier para ma-demo sya ng maayos.. eto po number nila

I saw the amp, for 13,800 you get a substantial unit, 8 power tubes the size of 6550. The transformers of these things must really be small as the transformers are hidden in the case which is about 3 -3.5 inches high. The build quality is comparable to those generic dvd players. as to the weight, its a bit light compared to most tube amps I lifted, as I can lift one side with one arm without any effort.

di ko na pinakingan as the environment and loudspeakers connected is crappy.

Just imagine the cost to make these, 13,800 less the margin of the store, less the margin of the dealer, shipping, taxes if any  , margin of the manufacturer.. hehehe

Unfortunately on this amp you cannot judge it with the transformer, for it does not have an output transformer. It is an OTL design using the chinese equivalent of the 6AS7/6080 tubes. This amp uses 8 of them, 4 per channel, and the 6AS7/6080 is a dual triode tube, so 8 triodes per channel on an OTL (output transformerless) circuit.

As you can can see on the picture, there  is no transformer on the chassis, the power transformer is underneath the case.

I did a DIY 6AS7/6080 parafeed amp and it sounds excellent so I would not be surprised if this amp sounds good.

If the power transformer of this amp is good, then it is a great bargain. 6AS7/6080 is readily available on ebay for really, really cheap. I was able to buy them for 500 pesos each.
