Thanks.

65 to 70 contrast, 50 for everything else then either cool or warm color temperature depending on my taste.
xD and other contrast enhancements off.

AV forum members say that the "with sound, no picture" problem is common for LG and Samsung plasmas that are over 2 years old.

The usual solution is circuit board replacement.

Sorry, sir.  Wala akong idea.

:(  In other words, nagmamarunong lang ...  ;D

If you're lucky, fuse replacement lang.  Worst case scenario is that all 3 boards (Y-Sustain Board, Z-Sustain Board, and Control Board) will have to be replaced.

Similar dito yung 3 boards:

It seems that there's just no way around it.  You will have to contact LG for a diagnosis and price estimate.  Then based on the price quote, decide between a repair or a new TV.

Many thanks sir barrister.

I really need to bring this to the LG repair center in Pasig.

I have to unplug and plug again to turn on my LG plasma for about 10 times.

Tawag ka sa LG (02) 9025544 or Domestic Toll Free : 1-800-8-902-5544

Sabi sa akin papapuntahan daw nila ngayon or bukas P500 check up fee (part daw ng overall repair cost pag pinatuloy mo pagawa)  , mas mura kaysa ako pumunta ng pasig galing paranaque

Symptom like this is usually a loose connection/cold solder. when the unit heats up, the metal parts expand therefore making full contact. try mo bagong bukas tapos medyo tapik tapik. :)

i have a similar problem before, even to the extent na biglang magba blank iyong screen, magpi flicker then babalik ulit after few seconds. by the way, my unit is panasonic plasma not lg.

what i did since di na cover ng warranty naghanap ako ng authorized service center malapit sa bahay fortunately meron kya pina home service ko na lang. una diagnose nung panel, then nung ok pa naman nilinis lang nila lahat ng contacts using a tootbrush :D then connect ulit and voila...ok na ulit it's more than 4 months na at di na ulit bumalik iyong problema. i ended up paying 2.5k for the home service

Hi Jigsaw23 ...
They called like 10 am that it would be late afternoon , so i said 6 pm is ok para nasa bahay na ako. pero
The LG service guys came in very late 10pm na but they kept in touch na ma late nga sila , diagnosed it was a power supply which i suspected in the first place , went back sa van  replaced the power supply since i described the symtoms sa call center before so they had parts ready.

After  they tested it , and checked when i bought it , it was really bought dec 30 2008, and barely used maybe less that 50 hours total since it was placed sa  attic and we had other tv's  but they were considerate and covered it under warranty ,. so I am a very satisfied  LG customer  with thier great service .

Yes I will buy LG again

mukhang common problem sa lg plasma.  too bad he was charged IIRC 10k for the parts and services.

LG Technicians just checked my unit yesterday.  Initial diagnosis was the power supply board.  They detached the board and brought it to their lab for checks.  If it can be repaired, the tech said it will cost not more than P5k but probably it will cost less than P2k.  But if it cannot be salvaged, the whole board will cost me P15k to replace.  If that's the case, I guess I can live with the inconvenience of turning it on in the morning and just purchase a new one.  Just a few more thousands added to the 15k is enough to give me a decent LCD TV.

Will update you guys as soon as they call today.  I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

I have solved the problem by relocating it.  Linabas ko na ang TV ko sa sala at nakabukas magdamag with my 2 year old's Barney, Sesame Street and the yaya's telenovelas.   ;D  It's been 5 months since I had it repaired and still had no problems whatsoever.  Just being obedient with the repairman's advise.   :D
